What is the best process for creating a webi document?

I inherited a BI 4.0 environment with published repositories, dashboards, and webi documents.

 

For development purposes, I tried creating the webi document local to my machine (due to how slow it was to create the document using BILaunch pad and/or the webi rich client on the "console")

 

I created it as 'standalone, pointing to a local universe'; however, I can't figure out a way to move it back into my enterprise world.

 

I was able to convert and publish the local universe to my enterprise repository; however, because I created the document in standalone mode, it doesn't appear to want to let me change the data source to a universe.

 

So right now .. I have a webi document that won't let me select a universe for a data source.

 

Any help or proven methods for creating documents then moving them to an enterprise environment would be appreciated.

BO 4.1 Installation - no SIA after installtion

Hello,

 

I installed a new BO 4.1 SP3 System. After the installation the SIA is missing. I want to add the manually in the CCM. During the configuration the System doesn't accept my cluster key.

 

How can I fix this issue?

FileStore on a fileshare

Hello,

 

I have a BO 4.1 SP2 Installation on Windows. The Filestore is configured, that the directory is on a fileshare. This works fine until 22th may 2014.

 

From this date, the Fileinput and Fileout Service doesn't work, becuase they have no Access.

 

We checked the System user and the rights. All works fine, only the bo Service doesn't work.

 

Can anybody help me?

Customize BI Launch pad Drawer "My Documents" - BOBJ 4.1 SP2

Hi,

Can we disable a few items in the BI Launch pad-> My Documents drawer.

We don't want end user to see "Inbox", "My Alerts", "Subscribed Alerts" when they open "My Documents" drawer in the BI Launch pad.

Publication executes successfully,but attachment is empty....

Hi Experts,

 

 

Our system configuration is as follows:-


BI-4.0 SP6 patch 3

 

Our application runs on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2

 

We have around 100 publications which are scheduled 9 am daily.

 

We are facing an issue from past few days where some publications are getting executed successfully, their attachment contains no data.

 

However if we run the source report it shows data,this issue is appearing randomly among publications.

 

Also note that there are no report level filters, prompts on the source report.

 

Kindly guide me on the same.

Report Bursting in CRS 2011(SP6)

Hello All,

 

I want to use report bursting using crystal report in CRS 2011 SP6 (Using Dynamic Recipient).

I have done it using WebI but here the requirement is for Crystal report to be busted.

 

These are the Error logs generated while I created the publication and running it:

query help needed for querybuilder to use with lcm cli

Hi,

 

I had set up several queries to run with the lcm cli in order to back up personal folders, inboxes, etc. to lcmbiar files to use as backups.  I have seen a few posts that are similar, but I have a specific question/concern.

 

I just recently had to reference one of these back ups only to find it was incomplete.  Does the query used by the lcm cli also only pull the first 1000 rows? Is there a way to change this limit somwhere?

 

Also, since when importing this lcmbiar file for something 'generic' like 'all personal folders', pulls in WAY too much stuff, is there a better way to limit this? I am open to suggestions, but it would almost be better if I could create individual lcmbiar output files on a per user basis.  This way, when/if I need to restore someone's personal folder contents, for example, I could find them by username and import just that lcmbiar file, as opposed to all 3000 of our users.  I am not quite sure how to accomplish this...

 

Currently, with my limited windows scripting knowledge, I have set up a bat script to run each morning, that creates a 'runtime' properties file from a template, such that the lcmbiar file gets named uniquely for that day and its content.  Then I call the lcm_cli using the proper command.  The query within the properties file is currently very straightforward - select * from CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_ANCESTOR = 18.

 

To do what I want to do...

1) I'd first need a current list of usernames in a text file, that could be read (?) in and parsed to single out each user (remember we are talking about 3000) - not sure the best way to get this.

 

2) Then instead of just updating the the lcmbiar file name with a unique name as I do currently, I would also update the query (which would be different altogether):  SELECT * from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_OWNER = '<username>' AND SI_ANCESTOR = 18.

 

In theory, that would grab everything owned by that user in their personal folder - right? and write it to its own lcmbiar file to a location I specify.

 

I just think chunking something like this is more effective and BO has no built in back up capability that already does this.  We are on BO 4.0 SP7 right now, move to 4.1 SP4 over the summer.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

i'm configuring SSO Vintela on a new SAP BO 4.1 SP3

I've got distributed installation


I'm also following the Steve Fredell at this link Active Directory SSO for SAP BusinessObjects BI4.


I've a trouble at the 9point; After executing this step my silent SSO doesn't work. I cant see‘credentials obtained’ in logs.


I can generate ticket with kinit

QaaWS links in Dashboard not working with secLDAP

Hi All,

 

We have few Dashboards in the BO 4.0 SP6 environment[New Environment] which use QaaWS links.  This Dashboards do not show any data if the link has "authType=secLDAP" and same link work if has "authType=secEnterprise".  I have LDAP configured and i can log into BILaunchpad using LDAP login and also in QaaWS clinet tools using LDAP credentials. Is there any configuration setting i am missing? Same thing is working in the older 3.1 SP5 environment.

double click event in B.I launch pad

Is it possible to set when user double click on the reports he should be able to prompt the values instead of seeing the latest instances.

 

Not everytime they have to right click and select the view option.

New AD users not appearing in BO

Hi

 

   We are using Windows AD authentication to login BI4.1 SP1.  The new users in the AD group are not appearing in BO. I have updated Windows AD authentication in CMC manually. But still no luck.

 

Windows 2008

Clustered environment

BI4.1 SP1

 

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

WinAD manual authentication to two domains

Hi,

 

We have our windows 2008 domain (A) and a secure windows domain (B) which we have a one way forest trust with.  Their trust of us is listed as 'External, not transitive'.

 

So

 

A - Forest, Transitive -> B

B - External, Not Trans -> A

 

We are running web sphere on windows 2008 R2, BOXI 3.1 SP 5.

 

We have set up WinAD manual authentication with our domain A using Kerberos.  Reading the documentation and threads here, it's obvious we cannot add domain B without creating a forest trust from the other side.  This will not happen for security and policy reasons.

 

Should we be able to configure BOXI manual LDAP authentication to their AD and have it coexist with the WinAD auth?

For full disclosure I am new to these forums and SAP.  I was tasked with finding potential solutions
to the below issue. 

 

From one of our offices, in China, employees are unable to
access our BI reports.  They are using OpenDocument
links and able to make it as far as entering a value for a parameter.  When they click to execute the report they receive
the“logon information for this report is
either incomplete or incorrect Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]” error.  

 

In the US we are able to run the reports without any occurrences,
further it appears that login credentials that are working in the US are not
working when connecting through the Chinese location via a team viewer session.  Using the same methods we have also been
unable to schedule reports, so it does not appear to be an issue specific to
the OpenDocument links.  Lastly, we had
initially believed that the issue was specific to our Windows 7 machines using
the Chinese language, but we were able to validate that these are working in
the US.   Has anyone experienced an issue
like this in the past?  Any information
or guidance will be greatly appreciated, also if any additional information is
required I should be able to gather and provide it.

BOBJ 4.1 SP1 IDT connection to repository fails

I just installed BOBJ 4.1 SP 1 and all is working well.  I can logon to CMC and BILaunchapd and create a webi doc using eFashion universe.

 

But when I use IDT to create a new session to the repository it cannot find the server;

I use;

 

System: dc1wpbo04.peny.dev:6400 (I have also tried @clustername)

User: user1

Password: pwd

Authentication: Enterprise

 

I have added my IP and Hostname to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file.  I know that my server is up - I can logon to CMC.

 

this is the error I get:

 

Error:
Failed to log on host "dc1wpbo04.peny.dev:6400", user "apeera", Could not reach CMS 'dc1wpbo04.peny.dev:6400'. Specify the correct host and port and check for network issues. (FWM 20030)

Has anyone been able to connect to CMS using IDT?  I know IDT in 4.0 works fine on another machine.

Scheduling LOV - fails

Hi,

 

When I tried to refresh an  LOV created in BVM, the status shows failed with the following error message.

 

Status of List of Values Instance: Failed

Creation Time: 6/5/2014 2:40:18 PM

Start Time: 6/5/2014 2:40:18 PM

End Time: 6/5/2014 2:40:20 PM

Server Used: DEV.AdaptiveJobServerCR

Error Message: Failed to open the connection.

Details: Logon to underlying database failed

 

 

The Data connection for this LOV has set properly to Never prompt for the password. SQL Server DB is used. On browsing the filed in Business Element , I am able to view the data.

 

Could anyone please help me to figure out the issue?

Iview Portal Error

Hi,

 

We have DEV and QA Iview portals to access BI dash boards. When accessing the QA portal using a newly created Test ID, it is working fine.

Where as for the DEV portal, with the Test Ids we are getting the error "An Error Occurred.Could not find the document".

 

I have checked SAP notes, 1807708, 1804310.

We have not applied the settings as per these KBAs in both DEV & QA properties files under Tomcat/.../Custom/Default folder.

 

That is all properties files are same in both QA & DEV.

 

Why QA portal Iview link is working fine but DEV iview portal is giving error. Can anyone advise why this behavior in DEV and any other settings I need to check from BO end.

 

Also let me know any settings to check from Portal side for both QA and DEV. I have also checked with security that access rights are similar for both QA and DEV confirmed by security.

 

Please help.

URI-Schema https not valid http expected

after upgrading to BO 4.1 getting the message URI-Schema https not valid http expected in Analysis for Office when login to BO server.

 

Any ideas?
