I have Business Objects 4.0 installation where-in
1) Platform: Unix
2) Installed BO : BO 4.0 SP9
3) Installed on two different servers(DC machines) with one node on each environment in a clustered environment
Now what i want is for testing purpose: Remove node from the main server/node and then re-add it
and similar for the secondary node
Please guide me through it

Just looking through my monitoring dashboard (BI 4.0 SP5) and noticed overall health was in danger. After a bit of digging I found it was my Crystal Reports Report Application Server that was causing the problem. It had over 5,600 documents and the danger threshold was 20.
My first question is probably a silly one,
What is meant by ReportApplicationServer documents?
How are they created?
If I don't need them, then how do I get rid of them.
As you can probably tell I've only just started looking at this part of the CMC and I'm a bit of a novice.
I've read up quite a bit on the monitoring side but can't find anything about documents.
Any help on this matter would be great.

Currently our system have single domain with SSO enabled and now client asked us to add another domain with SSO enable. I have gone through the scn forums and SAP note, and I need answers for following questions:
Multiple domain means - both are separate like Domain1 and Domain2?
If we have two domain what about the service account? it should be any one domain or same account should be create in two domains
The krb5.ini file should be like this right?

When i click the prompt option in re schedule the scheduled webi report, i got the error "while trying to invoke the method java.util.date.gettime() of a null object loaded from a local variable 'date' "
The BI version is 4.1 SP03
The scheduled webi reports failing and got the error as "Unparseable date: "01/01/1900" "
How to solve this issues?

We have scheduled LCM biar file to take backup everyday and save file in specified location on BOBJ server.
When schedule run it fails and shows error as,
"Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed., Promotion Status=Failure : Delivery results to destination (CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged) failed."
We are not able to understand the reason behind the failing. We are facing above issue in Quality system.
We have done similar scheduling in development environment which were running fine, but yesterday one of the schedule also failed with the same error.
Environment:
SAP BusinessObjects 4.1 SP2,
File destination is : File system (on BOBJ server).
Please help me on this.

Hi,
We have changed the SSO setup in our BO uat environment. It was using different BW system earlier and SAP SSO was working fine. After change the BW connection and SSO setup to new BW connection, users are not able to access Enterprise portal . As it is giving Opendocument login screen to enter SAP id , client and password. They have cleared the cache and temp intenet files, restarted the BO services after SSO setup and still the same issue.
Where as users are able to login BI launchpad using their SAP id with new BW connection.
I have checked the opendocument.properties file in Tomcat folder is already having the line "authentication.default=secSAPR3.
Can anyone tell me why this behavior and how to resolve this.

I am new to Crystal Reoprts.
We are getting errors in the same package. Users are getting authenticated OK, but we are unable to retrieve their privileges, Crystal Reports (V2.5) should be displayed based on AD groups they belong to.
CMS logs show,

I followed steps below for branding changes on 4.1 but I cannot get changes to show. Below are steps I've done.
1.) Unpackaged com.businessobjects.webpath.InfoViewBranding.jar
2.) Made my changes to customize.css and added my images and removed sample folder so now I have structure.

\css
customize.css
\images
3.) Repackaged it and placed at <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins
4.) Stopped Tomcat
4.) Deployed files to Tomcat
5.) Started Tomcat
Now in SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins I can see my webpath.InfoViewBranding folder with same structure as above with my new images. Everything looks good. The changes however dont show in the launchpad. I restarted Tomcat serveral times, deleted and recreated localhost folder, cleared my own browser cache. Everything I can think of but its not using webpath.InfoViewBranding folder. Still using default. Any other ideas? The folder structure is absolutley correct.

Hi,
I scheduled a crystal report and I checked the Instance Manager and the Instance status was success(attached files). The destination is "Email".
But the users didn't receive the mail.
The trouble shooting which I have done is
1) I checked the servers and everything working fine.( status of servers - running/enabled)
2) I created a new schedule on the same report with different date parameters and included my mail along with the previous ones in destination. It was also success when I checked Instance Manager. But the user as well as I did not receive the report.
It was urgent and i could not find the solution. Please help me in solving this issue.

We have a problem in our BI4.1 server.
A request put a very heavy load in our frsinput directory, stocking some 60go temporary data for a few hour. These data are deleted after.
We are just the admin of the server and we dont have access to the dev team.
We suspect a query to be launch that upload of a lot of data in the frsinput directory before using them
the files are located in a directory of frsinput :
How can i link these file to the query ? I ve no clue how to do it. I check in CMC put i dont find any report like these.
These files are temporary.

i'm configuring SSO Vintela on a new SAP BO 4.1 SP3.1.
I'm following the SAP note 1631734 and the article of Steve Fredell at this link Active Directory SSO for SAP BusinessObjects BI4.
I've a trouble at the 11 point; after executing this step the silent SSO doesn't work anymore.
I start the BI LaunchPad and it asks the credential to login.
In the tomcat log i don't see any errors and also I don't see the ‘credentials obtained’ that before I saw in the same file.
I think it could be a problem about SPN?
I execute the kinit.exe on the keytab file and on the user and all is good has suggested by the SAP Note 1359035 - How to test a keytab file external to Business Objects
Anyone could suggest me what to do?

When we test the connection, we get the error message "Method not supported".
We have found some discussions with similar problems (SAP BO and Hive connectivity using JDBC). After trying to implement the solution described in the link, we are still getting the same error message.
