Not sure if this is possible. I have a report that I can created off our ERP system and in order to get current numbers in the report I need to run a menu in our ERP system. I am able to make a BAT file to run the menu in our ERP. So I am hoping that I can schedule Crystal Server to run the BAT file first then the report afterward. Is this possible?

This Question is regarding crystal reports...
i have a subreport which is used in ten reports. In every report i am taking the same Sub report from shared location and check the option "reimport subreport when open". So when i apply any change that change will applied for all ten reports at my next schedule.
My Question is: if the Subreport executes 10 minutes and i scheduled all the 10 main reports at a time. At that time does the sub report lock for one report or it will use for all the 10 reports? Can anyone give brief explanation about this?

in there it has mention SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards under the "Server Products and Operating Systems" and also in the "Desktop Clients and Operating Systems" So I'm little bit confused about the installation. Please let me inform
1. Do I need to install SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards on server before install it to the client.
2. If we need to install it on server kindly inform the installation and configuration steps to follow.

We currently have Server 2011 installed, and are upgrading to IE 10/11. When users log in to Launch Pad, the top frame is missing, which contains the search box, log off, etc. When they refresh the page, it returns.
Further, when I log into the server itself, and start Launch Pad using localhost instead of the IP, the frame appears as it should.
Is there a setting I'm missing? This only happens in IE 10/11. I can't turn off Compatibility Mode in IE as other applications utilize this.

I need to generate a list of reports which took longer than a specified duration threshold to run, and I am trying to build a Query Builder select statement which compares the start and execution end time of report instances.
I see from CMC Instance Manager Instance Details Start Time, End Time, and Expiry; comparing to the SQL accessed object properties SI_SCHEDULEINFO.SI_STARTTIME and SI_SCHEDULEINFO.SI_ENDTIME the end time maps to the CMC viewed 'Expiry' which doesn't help me, where can I select the value displayed in the CMC viewed Instance Details End Time from?
To state it another way: In Central Management Console - Instance Manager it is possible to filter on "Completion Time". I am looking for the DB object and attribute where this value is stored.

We have BOBJ 4.1 SP2 installed.
Lets say User1 is in a role1(User group) that has restricted access(no access to design menu for WEBI report in launchpad). Works fine when User1 logs into the launchpad. Cannot see the Design menu in Launchpad.
User1 is also in another role2(user group) that has Design access for WEBI report (more like Power user access).
Now when logged into a launch pad via SAP portal, and opening WEBI report on which role2 (user group) is applied that has Design access, user1 cannot see the Design menu of WEBI report. This is probably happening because User1 is also part of role1 that has restricted access. So it looks like it is always picking
the role with least access and applying it no matter which report I am opening.
I would expect the role to regulate the authorizations on the report. And one user could be a simple end user for one report and a power user for another report.
Please advise if this is a Known issue or expected behavior. Is there a work around?

While attempting to schedule a report to output results to a specific directory, I receive the below message. As an Admin, I do have access rights to this directory. Existing recurring jobs successfully output to this directory with the same settings as I've used when creating this new job with a new .rpt file.
Any thoughts or ideas??

Hi,
I'm facing an issue with the Auditing db in BOE. Audit does not seem to capture any Webi (or client in general) events, only server side ones. That's what is available in the ADS database anyway.
Any idea what could be causing this behavior?
A couple of notes:
- we are running BOE 4.0 SP7 on Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2008 CMS/ Audit db
- in auditing settings set events is set to complete, and set event details to Query and Folder Path Details. No warning messages or anything like that are shown.
- we have a CAPS service running in Core Services

Hi all,
My company is installing Business Objects 4.1 as part of an overall (new) SAP project. I am the Oracle DB for the project and new to the SAP/Business Objects world.
My question is how do most people separate the different pieces of the overall Business Objects install on the database level? I was thinking we would have one database with different schemas for Audit, CMS, BODS and Information Steward. I've heard from our integrator that some companies will have a separate database for each.
Not knowing the system that well, adding separate databases seems unnecessary. Where I would have some additional hoops to jump through if a restore was needed for just one of the schemas, it seems better then adding the additional DBs.

When we try to schedule a report i get following error
while trying to invoke the method com.crystaldecisions.sdk.properties.IProperty.getValue() of an object returned from com.crystaldecisions.sdk.properties.IProperties.getProperty(java.lang.Object)
If i try to schedule myself and click on formats : i get this error

We are able to connect the BO server from the client tools locally - where the server is installed,
But when we tried to connect the BO server from the desktop, we are unable to connect the BO server and getting the below error.
could not reach cms. Specify the correct host and port and check for the network issues. (FWM 20030)
communication error occured when trying to connect to server (FWM 01009)
But we are able to login into CMC and BI Launchpad from the desktop.
We have already opened the port 6400, 8080, 6410, but still we are facing the issue.
Kindly help us on this issue.

I have created a relational connection to a MYSQL 5 database through MYSQL ODBC driver. Connection test is succesfull. There are more than 1 databases in the MYSQL server. However, I realized that if don't choose any database as the default one while creating DSN, I cant see any DB catalog in IDT. If I choose one, I can see the tables only for the regarding database.
Moreover i can still write SQL commands on derived tables in data foundation and get the result regardless of the databases and its tables. But I cant directly use the DB tables as you suppose. I have connected to many MSSQL DB servers before and never experienced such a case. To me, it looks like a bug but maybe it is possible to get this over maybe with a parametric update. BO version is 4.0 SP6 Patch 3.
Has anybody faced such an issue and found any solution?

We are planning to go for Webi for reports development and SAP BO4 Dashboard component for dashboard. Will BO offers separate groups out of box to grant access to these two components?

I am trying to find list of WEBI reports using a specific table. This specific table is used in only 1 universe.
Though I could successfully find list of reports that use this universe, I am unable to find drill down further and find the subset of reports using this table/object.

We have BO DEV environment was using a particular BW system(BWD) and setup the SAP SSO using using the same BWD system.
Now as per user requests, this BW system BWD changed to UWD. SAP SSO setup for UWD was done and is working.
When user trying to connection to SAP system, they are able to view both the connections BWD and UWD under BO CMC-SAP Authentication. Due to that there were few issues. And as per request the previous SSO setup connection BWD was removed permanently from the BO system.
Now one user asking for his favourites folder when he was using the previous SSO setup BWD, under BWD~<user id>. Now these BWD~<user id> folders are not appearing in BO CMC, only UWD~<user id> folders are appearing.
Is this behaviour (not appearing BWD~<user id> folders in CMC) because of SSO setup change from BWD~UWD or removal of BWD connection from SAP authentication in BO CMC. Please confirm and also any option/work around to recover the previous BWD~<userid> folders.
Please help and let me know any details required.
