When going to settings -> Manage Systems. I add a system i get the following error when i press save. I log out of the system and return

the system is there but I am concerned that there is problem with promotion management as i shouldn't get the following error.

The kerberos based spn is completed for sapBO which runs on the tomcat server.

currently when i understand from the network team  f5 just redirects the URL and authentication happens on tomcat url.

Issue is SSO working perfectly for tomcat1 url and tomcat2 url.

Through load balancer SSO doesnt work and it asks for username and password.

Network team informed no configuration to be done on f5.

They informed they are not using APM.

Please let us know if specific activities to be performed on f5 ? if yes please provide link

I installed BO 4.1 SP 06 then bw publisher disappeared, I tried to restart the service. whitout success.

I tried to apply note 1620791 - BW Publisher Service Missing from Central Configuration Manager(CCM)  without success.

I have inherited a BO landscape which is currently a mystery when in comes to SSO and I have been confirmed from SAP that it is the first case. Please keep in mind that both SAP and MS are supporting me on the troubleshooting and I would like to find out if anyone out there has experienced the same type of issue.

Symptom:

8/10 single sign on works sporadically.

Issue can be replicated by disconnecting and reconnecting. If SSO does not work, after a few refreshes (F5), the user magically logs on.

Network has been ruled out since we are currently testing (client) in the same physical network as the server and domain controller (no firewall/proxies). We've also tried specifying 1 domain controller through "idm.kdc" and the issue is persistent in both DC1 and DC2.

From Wireshark and Fiddler trace the one thing that everyone (SAP/MS) agrees upon is the request is missing a piece:

Putting the logs side by side there are cookies and jsessions that are different but we don't know who is causing this.

This difference is visible from the first request that is being sent. Please check the highlighted differences:

Hi, I'm working on an SDK application where the contents of the SIA command line, found under Properties in the Central Configuration Manager, needs to be applied as an input.  Currently the only way I know to do this is to go through the CCM, but is there a way to access the contents of the command line directly without the need for the user to do anything?

We are not able to connect to  the Web Application Container Server. After reading the Admin Guide we have checked (netstat -a) we have checked that nothing is listening in the expected port (6405), By checking in the servers logs I have found following error message:

   Am new to BO upgrade project. I wanna know about the database things before i upgrade the BO. Because no where oracle things is explained in SAP documents. I dont know why SAP dint consider the oracle things. My doubt is in my existing landscape they are using Oracle 10g for 3.1 and if am moving to BO 4.0 am gonna install Oracle11g. While doing the content upgrade using UMT, whether the oracle things will go smoothly or else i have upgrade oracel, if so please help me to do in a standard way. Help me in this.

we have a peculiar requirement . we have a user account which is used for development for longer time for BO

now we  want that user id to be locked. we don't want  to change password or reset,as this user-id is used  in the connection creation of many universes.

so please suggest how we can lock this user id or an alternate options for this

We are looking to upgrade BO 3.1 objects to BO 4.0 using upgrade migration tool, so if anybody has done that previously, can you please share your experiences regarding things that we need to be aware of, things to do and avoid etc...?

We are looking to use incremental option to choose the relevant objects we want to be upgraded into BO 4.0.

I have gone through documents that covers best practises regarding the upgrade tool but I am more interested in getting an understanding from others who have actually used the upgrade migration tool for migration.

We have scheduled this report and it has taken almost 4 hours(Start Time: 3/24/2015 6:27 PM - End Time: 3/24/2015 10:26 PM) and gradually it failed with the error below.

Error:

An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)

Instance is based on a single source universe. Its a large report and it takes around 2 hours to fetch the data if view this report. (Dont get any error while viewing this report.)

Until 11th March, the schedule of this report was working fine, however it stopped working after 18th March.

We have increased the Xmx to 8gb on APS.

Webi Processing Server settings:

Memory Lower Threshold (MB): 3500

Memory Upper Threshold (MB): 4500

Memory Maximum Threshold (MB): 6000

As this is a generic error message, we tried to capture the AJS logs as well, however did not find any useful information.

I have been searching for a solution but so far each result from SCN searches doesn't quite match my situation or it provides a solution I seem to have already covered. Posting here hoping to get some help with the latest version of Business Objects 4.1 SP06.

Right now I am doing the initial installation of BOBJ 4.1 SP06 on a Windows 2008 R2 system (64-bit O/S). The database for the CMS is on another host and it is running Oracle 12c. The 64-bit version of the Oracle Client was downloaded from Oracle and installed using the Administrator option.

During the installation of BOBJ, when entering the CMS information to connect to the database, I am getting the following error:

Error:

SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database "BOPWDEV.WORLD". Reason: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

(FWB 00090)

The system cannot verify the database logon information.

Would you like to correct it?

Anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening?

Here's what I've done for troubleshooting so far:

- connecting to the database using tnsping works

- using sqlplus to connect to BOPWDEV works (i.e. username and password works)

- using SQL Developer Tool to connect to the database works, and I can freely create/drop tables (i.e. no access/authorization issues)

- creating User or System DSN to create connection to database is successful in Microsoft ODBC Administrator

- probably unecessary, but created the environment variable ORACLE_HOME to point to the installation directory of the Oracle client

- C:\Users\<my user>\.businessobjects\logging contains log files that add a new file every time the error appears
