Pass SAP user parameter id from SAP netweaver in a OpenDocument URL

Dear Guru's

 

I configure a SSO connection between our SAP ERP system and our BI platform (BO 4.1 SP6). The goal is to refresh a Webi report via an OpenDocument link in SAP Netweaver Business Client. As you can see below it's working except for a paramater.

The problem is refreshing the report and pass a SAP user parameter id (see below) to the OpenDocument via the URL:

 

http://BOSERVER.enterprise.local:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Ab2Ntd26O0lLmdztDjZzt0g&sRefreh=Yes&lsS0P_PLANT=WRK

 

We use a Webi report with a Bex query behind. We have to pass a value to 0P_PLANT.

 

The SAP user parameter is:

What must I do to pass the WRK value to the URL? Because I have the error below. This is in French but it means : "Not valid answer. Enter a value for the variable 0P_PLANT.

Email sending Issue

Hellow,

 

       I have a Problem sending emails through my Business Objects Platform. I have configured the adaptive job server with my SMTP Server configuration (host domain , host name, port, ...), I also tested the smtp server with telnet command line from my Business Objects server, and it worked fine. But when I schedule a report in the Platform, the mail is not sent.

 

Does any one have an Idea what is the Problem?

 

my configuration is :

 

BI Platforme: Business Objets Plateform 4.1 SP5.

OS: Linux SUSE.

BO4 - When is Windows 10 supported? - Anybody using it yet.

Hi,

 

Using bo4 sp08 with web intelligence and understand not supported with Windows 10.

 

What is the earliest version ( if any yet ) where it is supported with Windows 10.

 

An external user using Windows 10 and not able to use it they are advising.

Hi,

 

Looking through the supported platform pdf see desktop operating system which support bo4 - only see windows.

 

Is bo4 supported with user using ubunutu on their pc?

BO4 - If scheduled report still running when system comes down - will it start off agani automtically when syetm restarts

Hi,

 

If a schedule report takes a while to run and running when sia stopped, will it start again automatically when the sia is restarted.

Has anyone been able to get Kerberos SSO to work using the AES 256 encryption protocol for Business Objects BI 4.1?

Hi,

 

I have been looking at a number of posts about how to get Kerberos SSO to work in an Active Directory environment using Tomcat, and haven't found anyone who is using the AES 256 protocol to make it work.  Everyone seems to be using RC4-HMAC which was incorporated into Microsoft's products for backwards compatibility to Windows 2000.  SAP's documentation from 2011 indicates that algorithms other than RC4-HMAC weren't fully tested at that time.   Using RC4_HMAC is a large security risk which can compromise your entire Windows domain.  We would like to avoid that risk. Has anyone figured out if it is possible to configure Kerberos Delegation in SAP using a newer encryption algorithm like AES256_HMAC_SHA1?

Is it possible to increase timeout for individual user in BO 4.x? If so - what are the steps?

 

I found instructions for increasing time-out for all BO users but not for individual users.

unable to Delete SPN after setting up Windows AD Authentication

We have setup Windows AD Authentication on our servers and it works fine as it is now. we recently moved from one domain to another and want to remove this SPN and add new SPN in CMC. However we are not able to delete SPN and Default Domain details. anytime we try to delete it keeps coming back and doesn't go away with a message (Since the AD is disabled, any changes made are disregarded)

 

Not sure how to clean this up for another SPN. any ideas? we are in 4.1 SP4

Hi

 

 

 

Reports file size goes to 25 Mb in excel, while the data is copied to excel the file size is 5 mb, is there any way that i can reduce the file size in bo.

 

 

is there any way that the file can be compressed  in to ZIP file , while publication.

Java error on MacBook Pro via VPN

User can run 6.5 via VPN at home, but cannot run XI, with this Java error:

He's got the Java exception entered that I verified from his screen shot.

 

We do have a certificate error so perhaps that's causing the error, but probably not.

 

We don't have any MAC's on site to do any testing.

 

Waiting to hear back on his browser.

 

I see in Supported Platforms that it's supposed to be Safari 6 / Apple Java 6 (or 7 with XI 3.1 SP6 FP1 - we have SP6 but not FP1 . . . ). However, on Windows I'm on IE-11 and Java 8, but the official supported position is IE 10 and Java 7. So I'm thinking that his version of Java should be ok though not officially supported.

I want to know EVERYTHING about scheduling a search object.

 

In the Administration Guide it says to find a SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform CMC Online Help.

It says to look under the Scheduling and Object Section of Platform Search section.

 

There is no such document.  I have searched for an hour now.

 

Does anyone know of this document and can they provide a link that would be amazing.

SSO bi4 AIX with multi domain

hi,

 

I setted the SSO AND <->SAP BI4.1 SP5 (on AIX server) I created an account service boservice with the first domain domain1 and I can get AD users in CMC

after the  automatic login  it works fine in sap bi4

 

 

now my company want to use a SSO for another domain domain2 ! what is the steps to do this requirements ?

 

 

I found only a sap notes for 3.x but nothing for 4.1

 

 

I have two questions:

 

  1. what do I do  to get a users from the second domain domain2  in CMC (must I create the same service account boservice2 in the second domain or only give him approbation to get user for this domain
  2. should I add a  line for the global.properties to specify the second domain
  3. Have you a step by step document, I am very confused

Crystal Reports Hyperlinks Problem

Hi All,

 

We are using Hyperlinks in some of the reports that open ups another report

 

the problem here is Hyperlink Report  is opening in New Session we have 20 Concurrent User License

 

if the one user opens all the Hyper Link Session all the 20 concurrent users are used any other user not able to Log in to the reports

 

 

 

Please advise how can we resolve this issue

we have a requirement need to create universe on top of VERTICA DB and generate reports in SAP BO 4.1 .is that possible if yes what is the workaround which driver i need to select while creating ODBC connection.it would be very helpful if anyone share your ideas

BOE XIR2 installation under a Windows 2008 R2 with SSL

Hi,  

I almost had everything working with BOE XIR2 installation under a Windows 2008 R2 with SSL.  

Almost, because it does not seems to redirect to headerPlus.do?objId=0 page correctly using IE/Chrome

 

Logon URL: /businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/InfoView/logon/logon.do

 

Submitted the logon credential

 

Under Firefox it would redirect to /businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/InfoView/main/headerPlus.do?objId=0  ( This seems to be the correct URL location)

 

However, under IE/Chrome it would try to hit /businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/InfoView/logon/headerPlus.do?objId=0 ( get 404 error )

 

If I manually change the "Logon" sub-dir to "main" then it will work under IE.  

 

Any advice as to how I can have the redirection working correctly under IE browser?  

 

I do a search for "headerPlus.do", only 1 topic came up and it is the issue that I'm facing.  Any help/advice/direction would be greatly appreciated.

UMT is closing Abruptly in BI 4.1 SP5

While i am trying to do incremental upgrade from BI XI R2 to BI 4.1 SP5 UMT is closing ubruptly when updating objects.

Even if i do with Promotion management tool its giving me below error when i try to promote the job or add the biar file.

Unable to logoff from BI Launchpad after making customizations to it.

Hello,

 

We are using BO BI 4.1 SP3 on windows 2012 server.

 

The requirement is to display a message on BI Launchpad Login Page. I made the required changes by adding message in Custom.jsp file (copy of logon.jsp). Cleared the cache from tomcat and started Tomcat.

I can see the changes on login page but when I Log out the changes disappear.

 

To resolve it I followed below steps:

 

1. Stop Tomcat

2. Copy the file BIlaunchpad.properties from <Tomcat Installation Dir>\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default to <Tomcat Installation Dir>\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom

3. Configure the exit URL in the new properties file. There is a parameter url.exit in the properties file. Configure it as url.exit=http://server:port/BOE/BI

4. Start Tomcat

 

Now, When I try to log off the screen hangs up and show a blank white screen and doesn't get log off. I cleared the cache but no luck. I went through many post to search for the solution but could not find any. There is some error which is restricting it. The error message is as below.

 

 

Please advise.

SAP BO 4.1 SP3 - Orphan Node

Hi

I have an existing multi node BOBJ 4.1 SP3 cluster on Windows 2008 in production.  I am upgrading each machine one at a time to Windows 2012

and re-installing BO using the existing CMS.  All was going well until one machine on which I made a mistake of

using the same node name that was already on another machine.  I was able to delete and re-create the node on the pre-existing machine

and create a new node with a different name on the new machine but for some reason could not delete the one that got created

with an existing name - it says it does not exist.  Even when I started from scratch on the new windows 2012 machine somehow that previously incorrectly named node (that has no servers running on it) showed up again.  I can see in the CMS datatbase there are 7 nodes (1 more than actual node).  This

node isnt going away.   So I see two SIA nodes on the new machine on CCM.  That bad node doesn't appear on CMC servers/node list but the new good node i created shows up on CMC  .  

I cannot delete the wrong SIA node from CCM.  How can I get rid of it? Appreciate any suggestions.
