we are planning to clean up the unused reports which have not been viewed,refreshed, scheduled.Is there any way of getting this information.

We are currently running SAP BOBJ 4.1 SP6 on Windows Server 2012 R2.

We tested deleting a Universe from the CMC and checked the CMS database to see that the CUID of the object was no longer there. We then navigated to the path in FRS where the object should have been stored and it was still there. If we then run reposcan, it does not show any inconsistency between the CMS and the FRS related to that object.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

I'am in trouble while trying to install the Epm Connection Manager on the BOE4 plateform.

I check the EPM_OFC_10_Install - Section 4.3.5, saying the following :

Creating an EPM Connection for Planning and Consolidation version for SAP NetWeaver in the Central Management Console

You must install the EPM Connection Manager on the BusinessObjects Enteprise platform before creating an EPM connection

But, i don't not find any documentation on How To Do this :-(

if there any solution for the issue that when I finished an iPad application design, and then click the button 'execute on BI platform', there pops up a browser window comes with url Http:// ***** to fail to display anything, while the button 'execute locally' works well.

I have tried to change the url setting of 'Open document' of CMC, but the page becomes 404 not found, and still nothing valuable displayed.

ALSO, is there any simplified Chinese version of Design studio 1.5?

This is the open document setting of CMC, originally it was urs *****, and I modified it to ../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=%SI_CUID%   as SCN recommended, but it still not working.

Hello Everyone,

I have been trying to schedule a publication using the dynamic user list. We have webi report which has the object for "Marketing Fare Basis" and dynamic user list also contains the same field.

We have successfully scheduled this publication for the dynamic users, however we have found that when we specify multiple fare basis for any particular user in the dynamic user list then it does not work.

Following is the dynamic list we have used which did not work.

This publication has successfully delivered the report to user abc, however it failed to deliver to the users xyz and pqr.

Source document has the prompt for marketing fare basis and specifying multiple values while viewing this report works fine.

We have found that publication does not work when we specify multiple marketing fare basis in the dynamic user list as RTSBAE;BTSBAE;UTSBAE(using the semicolon).

If we specify these marketing fare basis values line by line in the dynamic user list then it works fine. We have used the following dynamic user list which has worked fine.

Later we have found one more problem that the above successful publication has actually sent the PDF files for all of the fare basis individually i.e. it has sent 3 PDF files to xyz user and 2 PDF files to pqr user.

Whereas it should have sent only 1 PDF file to each of these users i.e. 1 PDF file to abc user for the "RACP" marketing fare basis, 1 PDF file to xyz user for RTBE,BTWE,UTAE and 1 PDF file to pqr user for BJGN,RJGN.

So our observation is, It simply did not merge the data into a single PDF file. We had selected the merge option while scheduling this publication.

I would like to know whether anyone has faced the same issue with the publication or not and whether we have any option to merge the data into a single PDF file for the multiple marketing fare basis using the dynamic user list. Can we use , or ; to specify multiple values in the dynamic user list?

Server : windows 2008 r2 64 ( datacenter ) on Virtual Machine (VMware)

BO version : SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI 4.1

I am able to login to the http://localhost/BOE/CMC/    and access the CMC webpage controls using the administrator account

When I try to login to the http://localhost/BOE/BI/     infoview page with the same administrator account, the page refreshes back to the login page.

I am not able to move ahead.

What could be Problem?

I created an OLAP-Connection between SAP BO 4.1 SP2 and MS SQL-Server Analysis Services. I also built an Universe on top of these connection to use the OLAP-Cubes in WebI.

Almost everything works fine. But one dimension in the cube has a mutated vowel (ä) in his name and I am not able to use this dimension in WebI.

The main error message in the stack trace is: com.businessobjects.corba.generic.container.proxy.internal.DependencyFailoverCallbackImpl$FailoverFatalException: Prepare failover failed

I also found this error message:

com.crystaldecisions.thirdparty.org.omg.CORBA.OBJECT_NOT_EXIST  minor code: 0x0  completed: No

My dba said to me that this error belongs to the mutated vowel in the name of the cube dimension. He also said that the changing of the name of the dimensions would be very hard because other systems consume data from this cube.

Is there any solution or workaround to avoid this error?

I need to disable scheduling to “ Default Enterprise Location” for end users.

I can delete other destination in CMC in “User and Groups” but I cannot find right in CMC to disabled “ Default Enterprise Location”.

Any idea or help please?

Hi I ran this, I did everything as is in here http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/blog/2014/11/25/how-to-create-a-program-file-in-bi4#comment-613074 which is basically just to create a jar file and do minimal configuration for the schedule. I created the jar as runnable and utility jar, I packaged/extracted the included jars and left them out. I tried all those ways and I put in the Program Parameter the class name "ExecuteExtract" but I still get the error

Failed to load class:[ExecuteExtract].Reason:[java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:ExecuteExtract].

Does anyone have an idea on what I am missing?

in order to log into to Bi Launchpad

is there any way that we can customize Bi Launchpad  URLs based on user 

Like Crystal url we can directly enter in to report 

Like that if user can bypass the Log in Screen directly enter in to Home PAge

We are migrating from BOXIr3 Sp5/6 to SAP Bi 4.1.6 - which supports FHSQL nowadays! - yep!

But the conversion tool does not convert teradata FHSQL - so far we could convert Oracle and Access FHSQL.

Is teradata FHSQL not supported? - I could not find any reference.

Do you have any insights on FHSQL and Teradata with RCT

(RCT = Report Conversin Tool) to convert Deski Reports to webi!

We have Auditing turned ON in BOXI 3.1.

I am trying to find list of reports that were refreshed within a given time range. Some of these reports could have either finished refreshing or could still be running during the given date/time range (because of volume of records to be retrieved).

The reports that came out of the box using the activity universe doesn't seem to help with this. Is there a back end SQL that can be directly run against Auditor Schema? I see that AUDIT_DETAIL and other such tables are present in this schema. But not exactly sure which event type or which audit event will provide the information I am looking for.

We are randomly getting "Exception in thread "Thread-43" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError" in WebSphere SystemErr.log with a timestamp. But we are not sure which user/WEBI report causes this in BOXI 3.1

I have access to Query Builder and Auditor information. I believe Auditor has historical information that I am looking for and not Query Builder.

I know how to troubleshoot heap dump and narrow down to Java classes causing out of memory.

But with BOXI application I am not sure if there is anyway I can pin point the problem report.

Things I have:

- Date/time when out of memory was thrown

- Auditor schema

- Query Builder

- WebSphere and XI3.1 Logs.

- Oracle AWR report that shows possible problematic SQL that retrieves millions of records. But I am not sure how to pin point the report or at least the universe using that.

I am trying to achieve this without having to use SDKs.

I'm concerned about security of publications distributed to dynamic recipients:

When dynamic recipients are used, there is only one bursting mode possible to choose (one database fetch for all recipients). It means that report holds unfiltered data and then filter is applied in the report itself (can be removed). It's not an issue, when *.pdf format is selected. Unfortunatelly when scheduling publication, it is also possible to select "Web Intelligence" as an output format. There will be user responsible for handling publications. I don't like the idea that *.wid files containing full set of data could be distributed via e-mail. (which can be further opened in Rich Client etc. I suppose)
