search feature not working properly in BI launchpad

Hi Experts,

 

environment:-

We are using BOBI4.1 SP1 and we have clustered environment.Two clustered node are there.

in Platform search service application we made the master index location shared for both server.

 

issue:- when we are searching content in BI Launch pad (in search tab)correct result is not coming.

               while searching from server1 BI launchpad application is giving us different result compare to searching from Server2.

               even we have done rebuild index then also same scenario occurring.

 

Could you advice us to solve the issue?

The applications have a terrible delay in response after upgrade

Hi,

 

We upgraded our current BI 4.0 sp06 system to BI 4.1 sp05. After the upgrade all the tools seems to be responding terribly slow or no response at all.

 

to list a few

 

Launching web based applications launchpad / cmc - response time more than 10 mins and sometimes no response at all (doesnt bring back any page -just blank)

Looking into CCM- does not  bring the list of services or gives a transport communication failure error

Logging into the client tools ( Webi rich client/ UDT/ IDT) - response time is atleast 5- 10 minutes.

 

 

Has any body come across such issue? Please advise.

Number of users connected in a period of time BOBJ

Hello guys.

 

Recently I Have Been using query builder tool, and it is a very helpful tool for me however it i have a request that i can not resolve since a few days ago. The request is to know the number of users connected in a period of time ordered by day , in order to know if the licenses are enough or soon enough it will be necesary to buy a new pack .

 

Example:

 

Since August 1st to December 31st i want to know how many users connected to BI launchpad by day

 

Date      /   Number of users connected

 

Aug 1     /   N

Aug 2     /   N

Aug 3     /   N

...

...

Dec 30   /   N

Dec 31   /   N

 

 

 

What are the fields and tables that i need to use to get this information???

 

Your help will be very apreciated as always.

BI 4.1 SP4 - SSO Setup Issue using Load Balancer

I am able to setup SSO for Web Server URL. However I am having trouble with Load balancer URL.


We are using Business Objects 4.1 SP4 and here's the infrastructure details of the environment:


1. BO CMS Server - This is a list of 4 clustered windows 2008 R2 servers.


2. Web Server - We are using WebLogic 10.3.6 to host the BO application called BOE. WebLogic is running in two Linux servers. WebLogic URL http://isdwlqax12:17607/BOE/BIhttp://isdwlqax11:17607/BOE/BI


3. Load Balancer - The URL is hosted by iPlanet webserver from 2 Linux servers and it acts as a load balancer.

URL http://bat-cmt-reporting.domain.com/BOE/BI  -- The users will use this URL to launch BI LaunchPad

The SSO is working fine when I use the WebLogic URL i.e. http://isdwlqax12:17607/BOE/BI. However, when I use the Load Balancer URL, the SSO is not working. I have to manually enter username and password to login.


I have also added below SPN for load balance servers and URL in the service account. Still the SSO is not working.

Anyone has experience with SSO setup for similar kind of environment? What I am missing when the load balancer is involved?

Cannot open Crystal Reports in Developer after 4.1 update

I preformed an update from BO 4.0 sp2 to 4.1 sp5.  Now when I connect to open a Crystal Report (Using 2008 developer) I get the message

 

"The report could not be opened from BusinessObjects Enterprise.  Possibly the report is on a different BusinessObjects Enterprise system than the one you are currently logged onto.  If this problem persists, please contact your administrator."

 

This is a single BOE server environment with a seperate SQL Server database server housing the CMS and CMS Audit databases.

 

I can schedule and run reports in BOE just fine.. I can connect, browse and see the report folder structure using both the Repository Explorer and the Open dialog... however I'm not able to open any reports.

 

Anyone seen this or have any ideas?  I checked the Input File Store Directory on the InputFileReposistory server and it's correct.

Logon denied: You do not have the right to logon to the application

Hi,

 

System: BI 4.0 SP5

 

I am facing the below error when a user tries to log into BI Launch Pad :

"Logon denied: You do not have the right to logon to the application"

 

I have set the following access to the user. I created a group - "View Reports" and then added the user to it. Then in CMC > Folders, in the main "All Folders", I set the User Security as "View On Demand" to the group "View Reports". Then also the user is not able to log into the Launch Pad even.

 

Request your suggestions please.

Sizing recommandation for Web Intelligence processing server

Hello all,

 

   We are in the process to change our web Intelligence processing server in CMC.  Currently having 10 webi processing among 2 machines.   Sizing guide suggest to have 1 per machine.

 

What's your setting right now ?

 

Did you have more then 1 webi processing server par machine ?

 

If we remove the memory analysis, I can it grow ?

 

We are on BO 4.0 SP5 FP3 and have all kind of reports running during the day, some very big. I see one time a report takes 4Go of memory when open.  I know, it's not a good practice but this is not the point of my discussion

 

Any suggestion.

SMAdmin activating Issues

Hi,

 

When trying to promoting a SAP BI repository  full content using LCM CLI method suggested in the Tehcnical Admin Guide we have noticed that following error appear regardin SMAdmin user:

 

Setting for Property-value pair (SI_FORCE_PASSWORD_CHANGE, true) contradicts (SI_CHANGEPASSWORD, false). Resolve the contradiction. (FWM 08001)

 

We have also reproduced the same issue when trying to activate the user (KBA 1759750).

 

Any idea about how to workaround this issue?

BOXI 3.1 SP7: IE11 has slowed the reports

Hi,

 

We have BOXI 3.1 SP7

 

We have a problem related with Deki and Web Rich Client. Some users are using both programs with a Windows7 + IE11. He detects the reports are so slow after the change from IE8 to IE11.

 

We made a test with a Deski report

  • last 10 sec on the machine with IE8 (JVM 1.6.0_18)
  • more than 10 minutes on the machine with IE11 (JVM 1.7.0_51)

 

Any idea?

we are having 2 server  ,consider server A   and Server B

When I login to designer tool .I provide details

Can't send to BI Inbox after upgrade to BusinessObjects 4.1 SP5, Patch 1

We have upgraded from BusinessObjects 4.0, SP6, Patch 2 to 4.1, SP5, Patch 1 over the weekend. Since the upgrade we have a large number of user groups who receive the following error when trying to send to BI Inbox:

We have double-checked the DestinationJobServer and BI Inbox has been configured as a Destination.

This functionality works for people who have administrator rights or who have been granted an Access Level called BIP BOBJ COE, which leads me to believe this is an issue with an Access Level.

 

I have compared the rights included in our BIP BOBJ COE to what the rights are in the group where people are having the issue and our BIP BOBJ COE Access level has these rights where the other group does not.

It doesn't seem like any of these rights would affect someone's ability to send to BI Inbox.

 

Has anyone else had this experience or can offer any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Unable to refresh the list of users BI4.1

On CMC, in the Users and Groups section , they can not view the list of users .

 

Refresh the user list is launched, however, it never achieved and no error message is returned.

 

Surviens the same problem when we want to display the list of users to add rights to the file or application.

 

Surviens the same problem on the Query Builder with the following query : "SELECT * FROM WHERE CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS SI_ID = 4"

Help with "Republish the file" after running RepoScan

I was reading through 'Business Intelligence Platform Repository Diagnostic Tool User Guide' and I have a question about this particular situation

 

Warning MessageInconsistencyRecommendationAction

<File Name> exists in the

Input or Output FRS, but

there is no corresponding

InfoObject in the repository.

The file exists in the FRS,

but there is no corresponding

file in the CMS

database.

“Please republish the

file. The application will

not publish this file for

you.”

When you republish

the file, an object is

created in the CMS

database.

 

I could not find any kind of references or instructions of how to do the republish the file. Where do I do that? In CMC after the scan?

windows AD authentication hanging then fails

Hello,

 

I'm in the process of setting up Windows AD and SSO, authentication and I'm at the stage where I should be able to login to the BI launchpad using Windows AD. However after I login, the process hangs and then fails with the following message.

I made sure that I completed the following before trying to login:

 

(taken from page 276 of the BOE Admin guide 4.1)

 

• created a service account on the domain controller for the BI platform.

• verified that the HTTP service principal names (SPN) have been added to the service account.

• successfully mapped AD user groups into the BI platform.

• tested AD credentials on the CCM.

• created, configured, and tested the required configuration files for your web application server.

• the application server's Java settings have been modified to load the configuration files.

 

I have checked the Tomcat logs but don't see anything that stands out.

 

Can anyone recommend trouble shooting steps for this stage?

Many Sessions in CMS Oracle database for only 1 BO user

Hello Experts...

 

We have a SAP BO 4.1 SP5 installation in a Windows Server 2008 , the CMS database is Oracle,  our customer  notified us that  since The BO platform was installed, the Oracle  DB was decreasing its Perforrmance.

 

If we check the CMC >> sessions, there are no sessions.

 

In Oracle Database appears the  user who has privileges in the Repository Da) tabase (owner) but  it appears many times (15 times) we dont know why appears ..Is this the correct behaviour?

 

Any ideas ..I attach the Image result  from the result in the CMS database ,it was sent by DBA 

 

the users or schema in Oracle to install BO are :

BOREPO

Aliasing Two Enterprise accounts

Hi all, Is it possible to alias two enterprise accounts in BO 4.0 or 4.1? I am able to alias Enterprise account with AD or LDAP accounts but I was looking to alias two different enterprise accounts.

How to change the default Date format For Webi Report

hi,

 

The default Date format of webi reports is mm/dd/yy

I wish to change the default date format to mm/dd/yyyy so that whenever

i drag a date from the universe it is automatically displayed in this format

and i dont have to manually format it everytime.

 

 

Is there anywhere where the default date format for all reports in webi can

be changed. and changes in xml files.

Classes and Objects from Linked Universe no longer available from Webi

This morning I imported and changed a Link on a linked Universe and re-exported the Universe.  Now when I try to create a report off of that Universe the Classes and Objects do not show up as visible.  When I try to open an existing report it gives me the un-resolveable objects error.  Any thoughts on why this might be occurring would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hello,

 

Please help me , i;m new to sap bo (SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1) .

 

I enabled LDAP Authentication and it works fine for named users, full name and email attributes are imported from LDAP.  I have a problem with other user attributes, they are not imported . What is wrong?
