VMS in a clustered environment
Hi just a quick question about installing a clustered BI 4.1 environment.

put on new enterprise server 2011 FRESH build
check ODBC to use the correct location however when running report

search feature not working properly in BI launchpad
Hi Experts,
environment:-
We are using BOBI4.1 SP1 and we have clustered environment.Two clustered node are there.
in Platform search service application we made the master index location shared for both server.
issue:- when we are searching content in BI Launch pad (in search tab)correct result is not coming.
while searching from server1 BI launchpad application is giving us different result compare to searching from Server2.
even we have done rebuild index then also same scenario occurring.
Could you advice us to solve the issue?

windows AD authentication hanging then fails
Hello,
I'm in the process of setting up Windows AD and SSO, authentication and I'm at the stage where I should be able to login to the BI launchpad using Windows AD. However after I login, the process hangs and then fails with the following message.
I made sure that I completed the following before trying to login:
(taken from page 276 of the BOE Admin guide 4.1)
• created a service account on the domain controller for the BI platform.
• verified that the HTTP service principal names (SPN) have been added to the service account.
• successfully mapped AD user groups into the BI platform.
• tested AD credentials on the CCM.
• created, configured, and tested the required configuration files for your web application server.
• the application server's Java settings have been modified to load the configuration files.
I have checked the Tomcat logs but don't see anything that stands out.
Can anyone recommend trouble shooting steps for this stage?

CR for Enterprise 4.X -- DSN not found
CR 2011 Server installed, when attempting to use the ODBC connections we are seeing a Login Error : DSN not found
Even though it is on the 32 ODBC Administration console
I installed CR 2013 designer accidentally (did not know it would break Server- which is apparently not working well anyways) and EVERYTHING worked GREAT !! all ODBC but with CR2011 server and CR for Enterprise -- got issues?
2008 R2 64bit, using SQLExpress (Same server 8 gig ram, 2 CPU)

BOBI 4.0 unable to login CMC, server error after I installed crystal report
Hi experts,
I do not have much experience in BOBI. My BOBI 4.0 server was working fine. I just downloaded and installed SAP Crystal Report 2013 sp4. Now I am unable to login in CMC & Launch pad after Crystal Report 2013 sp4 Installation. I am getting error after the login page. While investigating I found some servers in CMS is running with error, some failed and some in disabled mode. I have attached the CMS screenshot for more clarity.
i am using SAP BOBI 4.0 sp2, windows server 2008 R2.

Bursting Web I report for different clients with different languages
Hell All,
I want to schedule/ burst a Web I report to my external clients and the report output should be in different languages and data as per their security. I know data part can be taken care by security profile in CMC (is it possible for setting up profiles for external clients that dont access my bobj env?). The key part here is different client have different language requirements besides data filter. Any suggestions? Can this language preference be set in CMC while publishing report into PDF format? Please suggest.

Does Explorer work with Flash Player version 16.0.0.305?
Hi
After having upgraded Flash Player from version 16.0.0.235 to version 16.0.0.305 the Explorer doesn't starts and hangs with the message "This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash".
I'm using IE 11.0.15 and by going back to version 16.0.0.235 Explorer works again.
Has anyone experienced this problem?

dbd_oci.dll not valid Win32 app on Citrix
Hi guys,
I have SAP BO 4.1 SP5 Client Tools on Windows Server 2008 R2 running Citrix. Oracle12c 32bit and 64bit clients installed (32bit is first in PATH ENV).
When users run Webi Rich Client, IDT using Citrix and try to get data, only thing they get is error dbd_oci.dll not valid Win32 app. (IES 10901). In case I log to server using RDP and I try same things as users (refresh data from oracle), everything is fine.
Any idea what should i check?

DB time in Audit report
Hello,
We are on BI 4.1 SP1.
Is there anyway to find that how much time the report spent in DB and how much in BI system.
I got the total time and rows and size of the data but I do not know how I can find the time split between DB and BI 4.1.
Please advice if it is possible.

BO 3.1 - Report Conversion Tool - Logging In With Cluster Name

We are running BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP7. I have noticed that I cannot log into the Report Conversion Tool on a client machine using the cluster name, until I have firstly used the format "server name:6400".
I thought perhaps after logging in 1 time the cluster name might be generated in the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Enterprise\CMSClusterMembers" or "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Enterprise\CMSClusterMembers", but deleting these keys made no difference.
Can anyone advise why I can't log into the Report Conversion Tool initially using the cluster name, and why it still does not appear in the drop down list in the 'System' field ?

UMT with internal switch (4.0 to 4.1)
Hi,
Currently our production environment is at SAP BO 4.0 SP9 (no patches). I've tried upgrading it in-place in the past multiple times, but every SP or patch I've tried causes a major issue that would significantly impact our normal business operations so we have been unable to upgrade to 4.1. In an attempt to get us on 4.1 SP3 Patch 5, I installed and configured an entirely new and separate environment, which I have done successfully. However, I still need to get the content from our current 4.0 production environment to our new 4.1 production environment. I tried multiple times with both the LCM CLI tool and the UMT with the internal switch enabled.
The LCM tool is awfully slow especially when calculating all the dependencies and including security I've tried multiple things to speed it up (e.g., increasing memory with Xmx and XX:MaxPermSize) but exporting to an LCMBIAR files still takes too long. This is using queries that I've crafted myself in an attempt to get all the content. In addition, I've followed step-by-step all the instructions in Section 15.5 (Promoting full repository content using the promotion management tool) of the Business Intelligence Platform Administrator Guide, but with only marginal success. Even though the queries they specify in that section select all the expected content, some of the content is missing after the import.
The UMT tool on the other hand is much faster and copies all the content from the source 4.0 system to the destination 4.1 system. However, the odd thing is that the universes on the destination system still refer to and try to authenticate against the source 4.0 system. It's almost like the UMT tool forgets to associate the copied content with the new CMS. SAP support says that the UMT tool is the suggested route but they had no idea why the universes still refer to the old source system.
Any ideas or suggestions?

How to send Crystal Report to Crystal Server?
Hello!
I have a little problem or maybe there is no problem at all - I can't tell yet. 
We have installed Crystal Server 2013 on one machine and Crystal Reports 2013 on another machine. Is there a way to publish/export/send/upload a finished report to Crystal Server? What I have been able to do this far is create a report in crystal reports and then upload it to Crystal Server manually by placing the report into a folder on Crystal Server? Isn't there a simpler or better option?
I've also used SAP Lumira with Lumira Server for Teams and it allows simply to publish your report to the server. Crystal Reports 2013 seems to lack this kind of functionality at first glance.

Trusted Authentication with RSA ClearTrust
Hello,
My team and I are working on configuring BO Trusted Authentication using RSA ClearTrust.
We have followed these 2 sources:
1. XI_3 1_Trusted_Authentication document.
2. We went to RSA ClearTrust and found another step-by-step document there too with more specific instructions for ClearTrust.
However, we have no luck and still getting "Account information not recognized: LDAP Authentication has not been configured to use single sign on. Please contact your system administrator. (FWM 00008)"
Please advise, things to check...

Analysis for Excel on Audit Universe
I'm working with Audit database on BOBJ and I need to know if when you connect to a query using Analysis for Excel, the system insert a record on ADS_EVENT table but at this moment I only can see the Login and Logon event. Someone know if I can get audit information using Analysis for Excel? on the ADS_EVENT table Thanks.
