Log on issues with SSL

We are unable to log on to CCM and Web portals (CMC & BI Launch Pad) after configuring SSL. We are getting ‘Transport error: Insufficient resources.’ error while logging on to SIA and ‘Could not reach CMS’ error while logging on to web portals. In the CCM we can see that the Tomcat and SIA are running and we did not observe any detailed valid log entries or event logs when the log on attempt fails. Please note that we are using BI 4.1 SP3 with Tomcat.

 

SIA & Web Portals are working as expected when we use self-signed certificate and without SSL.       

 

Steps  to Reproduce the Issue

  • Created certificate request file and provided to our internal network security team for CA (Windows) sign
  • Our internal Network security team provided us with the following:
    • Root CA certificate
    • Intermediate CA certificate
    • Server certificate
  • Convert the certificates to DER encoded certificates
  • Created the passphrase text file
  • Create keystore file
  • Enable SSL in CCM and point to the following files:
    • Certificate Folder
    • Server Certificate File
    • Trusted Certificate Files
    • Private Key File
    • Private Key Passphrase File
  • Updated tomcat configurations (Java Options) with the right entries
  • Updated server.xml file in the tomcat configuration folder
  • Configured thick clients for SSL
  • Restarted SIA & Tomcat
  • Log on to SIA and test
    • Go error message: Transport error: Insufficient resources.’
  • Log on to CMC & BI Launch Pad and test
    • Got error message ‘Could not reach

 

If anyone has worked on the same we would like to have immediate help.

Switch users to Launchpad

Hi All,

 

Will it be a good idea to move all the users to BI Launchpad as the future version of webi supports newthings, like free-hand sql, excel as data source.. etc.

 

Please suggest.

WDeploy Issue

Hi,

 

I'm using 4 Virtual Machines currently

 

Virtual Machine A and C contains BOE Installation

Virtual Machine B and D contains Apache Tomcat Server

 

We have used WDeploy in Virtual Machine A to deploy the WAR files  in the Apache Tomcat Server located in Virtual Machine B and used WDeploy in Virtual MAchine C to deploy the WAR files in the Apache Tomcat Server located in Virtual Machine D. Our deployment was successful. But when we try to undeploy i.e., Undeployment of WAR files in Apache Tomcat Server in Virtual Machine B using WDdeploy in Virtual Machine C and undeployment from Virtual Machine D from Virtual Machine A.

 

1. We are getting a message saying undeployment successful but when we go the path C:\Tomcat7\webapps we see that undeployment was not proper as we still have Mobile Server and Mobile BI Service folder which should have been removed.

 

2. When we try to re-deploy it in the similar fashion, we are getting a message saying Deployment successful, but when we go to the C:\Tomcat7\webapps, we are unable to see any files.

Decimal places diferent in BO SUM function than from DB

Hi,

I have a column from a Netezza database with 2 decimal places, if I apply a sum() function in BO (report) the decimal places are 4.
The strange part is that if i do exact the same query in a DB2 database the decimal places are always two (like in DB) even if i use a sum function in report.

There is some configuration regarding the database i'm using to set the decimal places in the report level to be the same than in DB?

 

Edited: I've been studing the problem and I found using a odbc instead of a jdbc makes all the columns have 2 decimal places, and the sum problem doesn't happen. Now my issue is the division. How is possible that with the exact same values with two decimal positions, in BO and exporting to excel the last decimal place is different in some cases

 

Example:

Lets say A/B with A=13549678065,560000 and B= 21629484348,690000. With Netezza result is 62,6444803173527 and Db2  62,6444803173528

Implement SSL on Tomcat (https)

Hi experts,

 

I am considering to implement SSL on Tomcat (https).

It will open to users in internal network and in external network.

Internal Network and External network has different domain name (internal IP and public IP)

However when I use the keystore to create private key, it allows me to input one domain name only.

./keytool.exe -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA

 

If I use public IP as the common name (CN) of the key, internal users cannot access the server.

If I use internal IP, external users cannot access the server.

How can I implement the https so that both internal and external users can access the server successfully?

 

We do not allow "add exception" due to security policy.

The document cannot be loaded (IES 10833) - Refresh data in report not possible

Hi Experts

 

I am trying to refresh a WebI report with Launchpad in BI 4.1 SP3 P1. When I try to refresh data I always get the same error in one specific report (all other reports are working).

 

"The document cannot be loaded (IES 10833)"

 

The report comes via Upgrade Management Tool from a BO 3.X environment (where everything works totally fine) into the new environment. I came across several approaches (I already tried purging query, saving the report and reimport) but none of them worked.

 

Any other ideas?

BO reports security

Hi all,

 

I have a system on SAP BI BO 4 SP6. I want to restrict report viewing as per the following requirements. Please advise:

 

1) I want to restrict a user to view report during a specific time interval only, for. eg from 08 00 to 16 00. Is this possible? How can this be achieved? Or maybe can we restrict the user to login in the BI lauchpad during this period only.

 

2) I want to allow only specific IPs or MAC addresses to access the BI launchpad. Can this be achieved and how?

error message "*CSecSAPR3Binding::XRFCCnxBroker::BorrowConnection

Dear All,

 

When I try to a user in CMC of SAP BusinessObjects Edge Series 3.1 with SAP user id which I have already added previously in CMC it gives me an error message "CSecSAPR3Binding::XRFCCnxBroker::BorrowConnection() failed. See following log entries for details. Failed while trying to log on to SAP system. The following RFC error was returned: [Group, Key, Message]: [103, "RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE", "User is locked. Please notify the person responsible"]. The entitlement system has therefore been disabled in memory. This may be because the SAP system is unavailable or because the credentials are invalid. The entitlement system has to be re-enabled before it can be used again". 

 

When log in with the administrator user id by mentioning Authentication=Enterprise it allows me to login. I checked the license which goes expired because it was a temporary license so I request for the permanent license on service.sap.com site and also downloaded temporary key. The key is updated successfully but still I am unable to login. I also enabled all server in CMC through administrator id but got same error every time. Can any one guide me is this happens due to temporary key expiration and now I must enter permanent key or I have to fix some thing else?

SAP BO 4.1 authorization concept with SAP HANA issues

Hi All

we are working with SAP BO 4.1 SP3 over SAP HANA version 1.00.67.383230

 

we need do implement authorization concept  over DATA level , e.g  1 Analytic /calculation/view  and 2 users, each user can see his own  sales area.

 

we understand that we need to define analytic privilege , and we have done so

 

can someone  explain us on how we create/manage the user in SAP BO and make sure that the use will see in BO his own data

 

do we need do define user in HANA and BO and to to Mapping Business Objects Credentials?

 

is there an option that the user can log into BO Launchpad with the HANA user ( as done in BW ) ?

 

is there a best practice on BO and HANA integration for authorization ?

 

your advice is highly appreciated

How to disable in report "Export to CSV" option in

We need to disable Export to CSV in a Report from Infoview.

In the CMC, we have already defined "Public Folder User acces level". On top of that i have denied the following options.
-> User Security -> Select the group to affect -> go to Advanced tab ->
click the Assign rights link -> within the Content section on the left,
select Web Intelligence Report -> under Specific Rights for Web
Intelligence Report, deny "Save as CSV" & "Save for Excel" & "Save for
PDF" options.

After i denied the above options, The implicit value showas as "Not Specified". For the above mentioned rights it has been granted in "Public Folder User acces level".

Kindly guide me how to override this changes so that i can restrict Save Option.

Delete Events Older Than N Days

Currently on BO 4.1SP3.

 

Through the CMC, I've just changed the ADS configuration settings in the Auditing Dashboard to delete events older than a specific number of days (previously, this was set to a higher number).

 

My question comes down to: When does the cleanup actually begin where it will start to delete the old events?

And is there a way to kick off the process at a specific time?

WEBI Report Scheduling based on event.

Hello All,

 

We have a requirement to schedule a webi report based on event generated by ETL loads.

 

Scheduling works fine based on events.My requirement is If event is not generated we want to schedule the report at specific time.Lets assume event will generate between 10 Am to 11 Am.If event is not generated report will not schedule,but we want schedule report after 11 Am.

 

Please let us know if any one have solution for the above

Webi Database error java class fails to load

Hi there,

 

I have created a universe and it works fine and I am able to pull the data when I create query in universe. I am able to publish the universe without any issue. When I use BI Launch Pad to create a webi report I get following error message.

 

Database error: (CS) "Java class fails to load : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver". (IES 1091) (Error: INF)

 

I have this in mi jdbc.sbo file:

 

               <ClassPath>

               <Path>/app/sw/orahome64/product/11.2.0/client_1/jdbc/lib/ojdbc6.jar</Path>

               </ClassPath>

                <Parameter Name="JDBC Class">oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</Parameter>

 

I have restored the servers.

Encapsulating page failed error in Crystal report in Infoview

Hello Experts,

 

We have a crystal report with oracle server connection, it works fine in Crystal Reports 2011 tool. When I deploy it to CMC & Infoview, When I run it through Infoview it runs fine.when i close the report and re run it throws an error. If I run it again it runs ok. Sometimes it runs fine sometimes it doesn't .

Can't understand whats wrong. We are using Crystal Reports 2011 tool to design the report. We have BO 4.0 in cluster of 2 servers. The report throws error saying that :-

The viewer could not process an event. Error in File (Report name): Encapsulating page failed. ---Error code:0[CRWEB00000119]

Please suggest as it is a production issue.

Unable to Import LCMBIAR which Contains Publication

Hi Experts,

 

We are using BO 4.0 SP6. We are trying to backup our file from production server to DR server.

At first, we exported all the reports in one LCMBIAR (we have selected all the dependencies) and imported in DR but failed.

So we suspect their is an issue about the file size, therefore we tried to export folder by folder and import again in DR server. All the LCMBIAR files are successful imported except for a LCMBIAR file which contains publication.

 

Is there any limitation? Please advice.

BO4 - Excel-based data providers not working

Hi,

 

Have created some reports in webi rich client and trying to schedule these.

 

The files concerned exist on a newtork share (drive) U.

 

server also has drive mapped to drive U but when schedule them get message below

 

The file that is required to refresh the query cannot be found on the file system. File not found: "U:\<filename>.xlsx" (IES 10851)


Tried .xls and .xlls same bahviour - any ideas?


It works when use a unc pathname

BO4 - error installing download Manager

Hi,

 

Trying to install windows version of sap downloadmanager on windows pc and getting message below.

Anyone seen this before.

 

 

If right-click an dselect compatability to use Windows 7 gets past this part.

 

Windows 8.1 pc

 

Assume this best way to solve this issue - any other thoughts?

Trying to export to lcmbiar via command line as Administartor - getting message below.

 

assume Administartor pwd is just the administartor pwd for the enterprise and one we do when doing interactive promotion management.
