Dear Experts,
I have installed SAP Analysis for office in my desktop and while try to connect to BO using https protocol, through this error "Error while checking availability of SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform", but if I have used http means direct URL its connect fine to BO.
So how to configure Analysis for office to take https URL? here the system is single standalone, with single Apache Tomcat without separate Apache.
Please help me on this.

We need to create a report that queries a real-time database and automatically refreshes data on an administered schedule, as frequently as every 3 seconds. How can this be done in a Crystal report launched from the Crystal report server?
Also, the report will have at least 2 sub-reports, 1 query for 1 sub-report, 2 queries for the other sub-report.

We are looking for a solution to hide a universe from a list of
universes available for report creation.
Scenario:
User has 'View On Demand' access to multiple universes - unv1, unv2,
unv3. We want to prevent user from creation of adhoc reports based on
some universes, for instance, unv3. However, user has to be able to
refresh can(standard) reports running on unv3.
How to hide unv3 from a list of available universes in Rich Internet
Application? User should see only unv1 and unv2 on this list.

As stated in the title, I am experiencing an issue while trying to install BusinessObjects BI 4.0 SP6 on AIX 7.1.
Files were extracted from RAR archives on Windows box using .exe file that came with AIX installer. Files were FTP'd to the AIX server and permissions were changed to 777 for the entire directory, owner was changed to "webi" from root.
When trying to run ./setup.sh, the installer does not actually start:
webi@<host>:/apps/BusinessObjectsA/51046020/DATA_UNITS/BusinessObjectsServer_aix > ./setup.sh
/apps/BusinessObjectsA/51046020/DATA_UNITS/BusinessObjectsServer_aix/setupexe -launchedFromSH
Finished, return code is 0
I did not find the output very informative and was not sure how to proceed. I've looked at similar threads and the problem usually turns out to be a permission issue, but usually that is clear from the output. I've used the chmod -R 777 /apps/BusinessObjectsA/51046020 command to set permissions and also tried running with root so thinking that is not the case here.
Any ideas on what it could be or where to look next?

I have tried to access process it holds delta load for Master data attribute.It get failed due to error Last delta incorrect and data need to be repeated.
for this i deleted the error request from my data source and tried to delete the initialization for that object and try to load initialization without data transfer and it was succesful and then i tried to run that delta request. now again my delta got failed and i checked the error message its showing "Error in Source System...." i tried many steps but still i cant rectify the error.
Please help me out....

we are experiencing strange issues in Version management when there is need for adding new content - especially universe into version management system via "add to VMS" button. The trouble is it throws an error "Universe is locked", but it is not. This error is thrown for ALL universes from time to time and the only thing which helps is restarting BO servers which is not exactly best solution.
Is there any option how to resolve it without restarting?

I recently installed BI 4.0 SP2 with Tomcat 6 on the same server. I have 2 domains - domain1 and domain2. My BOBJ server is on domain1. Right now, I can access my BI launchpad and CMC etc like this: http://myservername.domain1:8080/BOE/BIhttp://myservername.domain1:8080/BOE/CMC Instead of these urls, I would like the end users and admins to access these via a better looking url something like http://launchpad.domain2.com and http://cmc.domain2.com I cannot figure out how to accomplish that.
I have looked into the option of http redirect (not good because the destination address shows up in the address bar), domain forwarding (not sure if it would work with multiple applications and forwarding from one domain to another) and also using apache tomcat with mod_jk by using virtual hosts (not sure if it is possible when forwarding from one domain to a sub domain in another domain) ?? please advise as to what would be my best option and how to accomplish. thanks a bunch

How do I bulk purge these instance entries?

Hi,
I am using the SAP BO Translation Management Tool to translate our WEBI reports into French language. Most of the queries are getting translated properly and after the export to the server they are available in French language.
But I am having issues with two of those reports in which even on successfully translating the variables and exporting the same to the server the translation is not available. On opening the WEBI report again in TMT it shows that none of the variables were translated and this problem is only with the variables not with query names or prompts.
Any kind of help would be great.

When I click on show values for a "decimal" column i get this error.
If I create on the same connection a single source universe it works perfectly.
my BO versione is 4.1 sp2 patch 3.

Is it possible to get auditing sample reports in WebI format instead of Crystal format (like in previous versions of BO) ?
When Crystal is not used by a custommer, it's a pity to install and run Crystal servers & client just for auditing reports, isn't it ?

We are using the OsiSoft PI servers and are currently trying to connect to the PI Server. We installed the PI OLEDB drivers and were able to connect to CR 2008 version of the tool.
We intend to connect the Crystal Enterprise / IDT to the PI system however we are not able to do so. Has anyone done this before ?

We have CR2013 installed on a 64 bit Windows 2008 server, using Oracle 11g. We have 2 reports - one that uses a parameter, and one that does not.
When running from the CMC, the one that does not use a parameter returns the entire table of 29 rows. The one what does use a parameter returns no rows, even though we can see the correct parameter in the History log.
I've searched these message boards and seen similiar issues posted, but none seem to reflect my installation. Can anyone help?

We are trying to create a VIEW only access to our BO consultant in our production CMC. But there are certain things that are hard to control. For example, Authentication - Is there a way to make it VIEW only. How about other options listed below - is there a way to make it so he can view it but not change it;
