SAP Entitlement System Role Import RFC Error Message.

We are working on a technical upgrade for our BI Platform system from XI 3.1 SP4 to BI 4.1 SP5 Patch 4.  We are running into problems when trying to perform a role import from a connected BW Entitlement System.  This BW system is the same one that was and still is being used in the previous system.

 

The error we get is: "No RFC authorization for function module RFC_GET_FUNCTION_INTERFACE."

 

We have checked with our BASIS team and they assure us that the authorizations for the account used to connect to the BW system matches what is listed in the Admin Guide.

 

In some of our BW environments, the BW team granted SAP_ALL to the account used in the Entitlement system and the error didn't occur again, even after removing SAP_ALL from the account.

 

We have run an Authorization Trace in the problematic BW systems which didn't turn up any issues.

 

We are still waiting for SAP Support to come back with a final answer, but any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.

while installing sap bo 4.1 , in my laptop(OS: Windows 10 )  Iam facing issue

 

Issue : server not found .

 

 

Could you plz help me in installation . I need to install trail version in my laptop

can i install both client and server in my laptop

Crystal Reports XI R2 upgrade to BO XI 4.1

Hi Team - I am having crystal reports on XI R2 which were deployed using Crystal reports 10 , Now i am upgrading them to BO XI 4.1 .

 

1.) When i do this process manually i.e Open a report in 2013 and deploy onto 4.1 i am having no issues .

 

But when i upgrade using UMT : - I get the below error message.

The Upgrade Process Cannot continue until you Start or enable the following services : (UMT 10007)

Report Application server :Crystal reports 2013 viewing and Modification service

 

Any Idea on how to fix this ?

Tables identification from CMC

I have multiple crystal, webi reports in CMC. Can I able to check particular table has been used in 'n' number of reports in CMC.

 

Could anyone assist me with the process how to achieve this.

SAP Lumira icon missing in the CMC -> Applications

Hello everyone,

 

i have a BI 4.1 SP7/AIX Environment together with a SAP Lumira Server 1.29/Windows. The installation was successful without any errors. After the installation all SAP Lumira entries in the CMC where missing. There were no application rights and no SAP Lumira Application inside the CMC.

 

A repair and re- installation didnt solved the issue.

 

I was able to fix that by copying all "*lumira*.XML" and "*lumira*.XSD" files from the Windows Host to the AIX Host. I copied them into the "packages" folder on the AIX Host and restarted the SIA. After that all entries are there and i can use SAP Lumira successful.

 

The only thing missing the the SAP Lumira icon under CMC -> Applications.

 

Does anybode has an idea where this icon is located, whats the name of the icon and how do i populate it into the CMS DB? (I guess the process is the same as for the XML and XSD files).

User member of Administrators group does not have rights to access the CMC

Hi the community,

 

We are with a SAP BO 4.1 SP6 Patch 2: when we create an enterprise user via the CMC, we add it to the Administrators group, and then we try to log in to the CMC via this user, we have the following error:

 

You do not have access rights to log on to the application

 

 

Do someone already faced that type of issue ? Or are we missing something ?

 

 

The only way to be able to connect to the CMC is to add the security for each user on the CMC Application directly. But after when trying to promote from Dev to Qas, it does not work. We have the same problem on each platform (Dev, Qas, Prod).

Tomcat F5 Load Balancer - BOE/CMC

Hello Experts:

 

We have two Tomcat servers for which we are trying to set-up a cluster. We configured F5 as the load balancer and a common name.

 

We have it configured as:

 

  (Common Hos/VIP Alias)

<host 1> <host 2>

                              

 

1. We can reach tomcat using each individual host AND the VIP alias we distinguished.

2. I can reach and login to BOE/CMC by calling each individual server without an issue.

 

The problem, when trying to logon to to BOE/CMC using the VIP Alias, it throws a null pointer exception:

Could someone guide me on the configuration steps I may be missing in this process?

Analysis Office showing other users documents in document search

We are converting all BEx workbooks to AO 2.2 and training users on AO; opening documents and saving favorites in the My Document folder. When we use the search function, not only are the documents in the primary roles returned, so are the favorites in each users My Document folder. Worse' the returned documents can be deleted. Son one user could delete another uses favorite.

 

Is there a setting to prevent documents in another users My Document folder from being returned in the search?

Need help in Virtual time hierarchy

Hi,

 

We have activated virtual time hierarchy in BW 7.3 on 0CALDAY. And we have created the Hierarchy node variable on this in BEx and its working fine in BW and showing hierarchy in F4 help as well.

 

But the same is not reflecting in Webi BI 4, in webi, the prompt behaving as calender date prompt and given only dates in LOV no hierarchy of 0CALDAY.

 

Appreciate, if anyone can help on this.

Bursting

I am running Crystal Reports Server 2011.  I want to implement report bursting, but the options to do so, or steps required to set this up, are not available to me.  I do not have the option to create profiles or publications, the options simply aren't in the menus.  Is this a licensing issue or do I require additional software?

Dynamic recipients with a prompt

We have Webi report which is generated by passing the parameter in Stored procedure. and we use the same report and parameter for generating the dynamic recipients list  to publish the report. But we have issue, when we do publication by dynamic recipients, it uses the list last saved in the report instead of running the report with a prompt. Therefore  in order to distribute the report, first I have to manually run the report with prompt for dynamic recipients and save it and then run the publication. The list has to be updated manually when needed.  Is there any way this report gets refreshed by itself by using the same prompt as source document? We are using the same query for recipients list and source document

CMC Scheduling--How can I keep CMC from immediately running a report when I change its schedule?

Hi, everyone!

 

Total newbie question here:  I'm supposed to go through my department's ~250 scheduled reports and update the distribution lists for both report distribution and failure notices.  Every time I make a change to a distribution list, CMC starts running that report, even though it's not scheduled to run until the following morning.

 

Is there any way to keep it from doing this?

Hi All,

 

Enviro. sap bo 4.1

DB: oracle and iSeries

 

I have two pieces of SQL, One from the Express system (AS400) and the other is from LOAD (Oracle).

I want to join them up in a universe. 

Does anyone  happen to have an example of one that I could use as a guide for putting it together?

Or any solution will help

BI 4.2 SP2 Cluster key is incorrect

Hi, Gurus:

 

We performed a default BI4.2 Sp02 installation which was successful.  The CMS database is on the enclosed SQLAnywhere DB.  We tried to switch the DB to SQL server, we encountered an error of "Cluster key is incorrect". 

 

The error message comes despite we are sure the cluster key entered was what we setup with.

 

We also tried successfully changing the cluster key through CCM, using simple or system generated cluster keys. 

 

However the error persists.

 

Any insight on what has changed in BI4.2 regarding cluster keys ?

Kindly help me how to solve this errors:

Disable Upload Local File in Launchpad

Dears,

 

Sometimes our customers facing performance issues due to the antivirus software. According to some SAP recommendations they deactive the antivirus software on the BI Platfrom server.

 

Question: Is there a security posibility to deactive/disable "local file upload" for BO User? Of course some users require the possibility e.g. for the image or css upload. But for most of the BO users we would like to deactive this option/remove the authorization. Thanks for your feedback.
