We have a scheduled report that consistently fails on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) with an error message of "Error In File .... Request Cancelled by User". It prints successfully Monday - Friday. I think this may be a printer issue rather than a Crystal issue. Can anyone provide any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

All of our printers are HP and use the HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.4) driver.

Printer logs do not show any print jobs attempted during weekends.

My guess is that the users turn it off during the weekend, but I'm not able to confirm this with anyone.

i implemented exception handling using an own message class in the function module of an Webservice. When an error occurs I get my well explained error message in ST22.

But the System that consumes the webservice just receives the message "RABAX occurred on server side". So this system don't know what really happens.

How can I achive that the consuming system gets the defined message of my message class?

When I schedule a specific webi report to an FTP location or by Email it fails. But when i run the report, the webi runs under 1 minute, returns some 75,000 rows and 37 columns. Also when I schedule it to BI Inbox it works fine.

File details:

around 76000 rows and 37 columns.

Size is 40 MB

I ruled out the following issues:

1. No network issues. I can ping the FTP location fine from the servers.

2. No outages and all services are running fine.

3. Scheduled a couple other reports as EMAIL and FTP and they succeed fine.

4. This specific report runs fine when executed and runs in under 1 minute.

My BOBJ env: BOBJ 4.1 SP4, CMS: oracle, O/S: Linux REDHAT Enterprise.its a cluster.

Issue repetition is exactly the same on any server. for example on both nodes, the issue is the same.

Can anyone help out on zeroing in on what exactly can be the issue here?

I am using SAP BO 4.1 SP06. We have configured AD authentication with SSO and SSL on the server. Everything is working fine but when I AM trying to connect to BO repository from crystal reports for enterprise 4.1 SP06 it is giving me Unable to authenticate with SSL (HTTPS). Hello Experts,

We have BI 4.1 SP01 on windows 2008 R2 server with Tomcat on the same server.

When I try to build a single source universe using Information Design Tool, then I'm able to do it.

When I bring in two secured connections into my Project and while building data foundation layer when I select multi source enabled, then I can chose the two connections and it opens up the tab for the Data Foundation layer...But when I try to bring tables from any of the two connections then I'm getting error message "Conversion from UTF8 to charset failed : Encoding not loaded". I have attached a snapshot the error message.

I'm not able to find much help on google...any idea how can I fix this issue?

We have installed BI contents and published the standard reports from BW server to BO server and trying to access them from Crystal Reports Designer and Crystal Reports Viewer.

When I try to open the report in Crystal Reports Designer, which is published in repository, am getting the following error:

"An error occurred while updating the report's parameter pick lists. This report requires a repository connection in order to open."

When I try to open the report in Crystal Reports Viewer, am getting the following error:

"A problem occurred while refreshing on the server. The report may not be configured properly for refresh."

  Due to some reason, we will need to upgrade Oracle in our local systems from 11g to 12c. But the BI4.1 SP4 is still in 11g. Is it OK if we connect from oracle client 11g to BI4.1 12c CMS? Is that compatible?

We recently upgraded from XI 3.1 FP4.2 to FP7.1. Since then we have intermittently had issues where users log into Desktop Intelligence using the 3-tier cluster name and the list of "Available Universes" is blank. This affects all users, and it is only fixed by logging into Desktop Intelligence with the Administrator account, which somehow refreshes the connection.

"Use in Offline Mode" is NOT being ticked, when this occurs.

SAP Knowledge Base Article "1998841 - Cannot view Universes list when using Desktop 3-tiers mode for Administrator users", actually details the opposite problem to what we have. In our case its the non-adminstrators that cannot see the "Available Universes" list.

One thing we did do when upgrading the fix pack was to turn on auditing for Desktop Intelligence.

Any ideas on troubleshooting/resolving this issue would be appreciated.

we are on BI 4.1 SP6.

We have 4 nodes on our PROD-environment.

Regularly we see that CMS detected a server being down, while the referred server is down and disabled in CMC. Error -message we see in the Windows Event-log is (example) :

"

CMS Server Watcher: server named BIPRD_INT02.ConnectionServer32 is being marked as down because it is unresponsive:Monday, November 23, 2015 07:24:21(1), eventlog: 1  critical

"

Anybody any idea what is causing this ? And how to avoid ?

Is there a function in XI3.1 to see all of the reports in which a particular Object is being used?

I don't see any of the canned audit reports that would show this.

Example: I have a Universe Object called "Ins. Proper Name'' and I want to see how many of our reports are using this object.

We have just started to test behaviour of our SAP BI platform using IE11 on the desktop clients. We have checked on SAP BI PAM (see link) that our current system (BI 4.1 SP4 Patch 1) is compatible with 11 IE requirements (see attached picture)

But on our initial test we have found an strange bug that does not appear in the SAP Knwoledge base. When a user selects on My Inbox folder the web page completely hangs. We have checked in the IE Developer tools that an error message appears on the debugger (see attached screenshot).

At first glance I would say that it seems to be a bug but sounds strange to me that no one reported it before (at least no documentation about appears in SAP Knowledge base). Next week we plan to move to SP6  (for other reasons) but I am not sure if problem will disappear with the upgreade

Has someone noticed this behaviour before? Can someone confirm that problem does not appears when using IE11 and SAP BI4.1 SP6?

My first problem should be trivial for those of you that have worked with migration from version sap bo 3.1 to version 4.1.

I've got only expirienced version 4.1, and never used older versions, so don't know what to answer to the question I was asked after migrating Deski reports to 4.1 - qustion is related with those reports, that couldn't be succesfully converted to Webi version:

Can we access the BI4 with the old BOXI application?

And the other question is related to freehand sql reports - they are Deski reports so I don't have tools to open them. None of them uses secured connection, and question is: how user can fix that? I'm not sure how connections are set in those reports.

we're currently setting up a business objects landscape (SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.1 Support
Pack 5 Patch 7). We successfully connected the sytsem with our central ldap (openLDAP via ldaps). Users can actually login with there ldap credentials. The only issue we face, is the following: Our passwords inside the ldap directory are encrypted (passwords starting with {SHA}...), then the login fails, it works only if the password is plain text!

Our understanding of security tells us, that it isn't a good idea to store the passwords unencrypted. Our Netweaver Portal is also able to handle the encrypted hashes, so what's wrong with our bo configuration?

I've installed a free trial of Crystal Server 2011 on my Windows 7 machine to try the reporting solution with my PostgreSQL database, however I'm having some troubles. After the installation I head into Central Configuration Manager to try and add my database.

I add a new node with CMS, enter name and port.

When I am asked to provide the datasource I'm only given a limited number of options for the driver none of which works with PostgreSQL:

SAP HANA (ODBC)

SQL Server (ODBC)

Oracle

DB2

Sybase

MySQL

MaxDB

SQL Anywhere (ODBC)

When I try to use any of those and then select my PostgreSQL ODBC data source (I have created it in Data Sources in Windows control pannel) it tells me it is not supported.

Shouldn't there at least be Generic ODBC? Is PostgreSQL even supported by Crystal Reports? I can connect to that database just fine with a Crystal Reports desktop program, but I would like to use server solution. Can somebody please advice how can I get this setup running?

I'm using

- SAP Business Object 4.1 SP5 with Sybase Database (SQL Anywhere 12)

- OS : Windows 2012 R2

- SAP BW Database : Oracle 11

All of my dashboards using SSO (Single Sign On) linked to BW. Dashboard that using Webi in it facing some problem when I access it from different device).

I have try in some device to access it. (I always log in using SAP Authentication)

1. Desktop using browser with flash player --> no problem

2. Desktop preview in mobile version using SAP BusinessObject Dashboards --> there is an error like this

     Error : Cannot Access External Data

               Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is not empty.

3. Android using firefox with flash player --> no problem

4. Android using SAP BI application -->  there is an error like this

     Error : Cannot Access External Data

               Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is not empty.

5. ipad using latest SAP BI application --> there is an error like this

     Error : Cannot Access External Data

               Failed while trying to log on user XXX. RFC error: "Number:000 (USER_OR_PASSWORD_INCORRECT)" (FWM 00013)

     I'm sure that I using the right user and password from SAP BW because I can login with that user in SAP BW using SAP Logon.

but there is a user (YYY) that can access every dashboard with no problem occured.

I have checked this two user (XXX) and (YYY) have same role in SAP BW and same user group in SAP BO. Both of them have full access in BW and in SAP BO.

I hope there is a solution for this problem.
