How to re-bind a report to a Unx file

Hi BI Experts

Please help:

I have been trying to create a report that lists all the reports that use a particular universe but when I run the report I get a lot of reports that have lost their binding to their universes. This also means that I am unable to change the source of the report if I need to.

 

 

When I promote the reports I don't usually include the Dependencies in the promotion job as we have had a few issues where universes were promoted to production before they were ready because of a dependency on the promotion job.

 

 

My question is can I re-bind the reports to a universe without going through the Promotion Management cycle and attaching their dependencies to the promotion job?

How to schedule report in specified hours nad minutes in BI Lanchpad x times per day

I would like to schedule some reports 3-4 times a day (for example about 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:01). I could create 3-4 different schedules but I would like to create one contains those times. It is possible? I will be appreciate for your help.

I need help getting my BO 4.1 sp4 system to run

In talking with SAP support they suggested that I create a discussion here to get help from people who may have experienced the issues we are having, as SAP Support cannot help me.

 

In our production environment (well, it will be production if we can ever get it to work, we are two years in the roll-out process now) we have EIGHT Linux VM servers that are clustered with 32GB ram each for the BO application.  We also have four WebLogic servers to handle the web processing.

 

We attempted to run a load test and it failed with less than 1/4 of the standard load of our 3.1 environment.  Out of Memory.

 

The monitoring failed to run on the servers. Error #1085

I can't even run a landscape analysis anymore as it is getting an OpenAction CGError on one of our CMS servers.  (the SAP article says I need to remove that server.)

 

The SAP Support person suggested that I have to rebuild all my servers.

 

I am frustrated.  Having to open a "Discussion Items" to hope the community can help me resolve this issue is not the level of support that I thought we were paying for.

Sybase IQ driver and Linux BI platform

I'm having the following error message while i'm trying to refresh the reports which extracts data from Sybase IQ:

 

DBDriver failed to load : /opt/SAPBI/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/lib64/libdbd_iqdbodbc16.so (libdbodbc16.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory).

 

What I've done so far:

- installed IQ client tool Sybase IQ 16.0 Network Client Linux x86-64  with default configuration

-created odbc entry which point to my IQ driver.

 

Why does it still use opt/SAPBI/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/drivers/lib64/libdbd_iqdbodbc16.so if i've installed it in /opt/SYBASEIQ/....

 

here is extract from IQ:

UID=dba

DatabaseName=DWHIQ

ServerName=DWHIQ

Host=192.168.11.11:2639

Driver=/opt/SYBASEIQ/IQ-16_0/lib64/libdbodbc16.so

 

 

Most likely i have to modify and change smth, but what? I'm not really Linux admin guy, so do not have any experience in that type of configs

Launch Pad Help Icon in BOBJ 4.1 SP5 - customize

Hi there,

When the end user opens the Launchpad, there is a help icon to the far right in the Home Tab (please see below image, Icon highlighted in yellow).

When I click that, it takes me to a page with the 404 missing page error.

Is there a way to either repoint the icon link to the correct help location or completely hide it, as it currently confuses our end users.

 

Please advise.

Hi BO Admins,

 

Facing issue with Webi server -server intelligence agent for this server is unavailable. System Integration Testing Environment

 

Back ground :

Current Version : BI 4.1 SP5

Linux : RHEL 6

RAM - 16GB /6 core CPU

Webi REPORTS - 150, 4 Universes (.unv)

Reporting DB : Oracle 11g

1 webi server, 2 APS - one for Webi and 1 for rest of services, other services like crystal/Dashboard/WACS/Monitoring APS are all stopped and distabled

 

Old version : BOXI 3.1 SP7

Linux : RHEL 6

RAM - 8GB /1 core CPU

Webi REPORTS - 150, 4 Universes (.unv)

Reporting DB : Oracle 11g


Wiped off BOXI 3.1 sp7 on the VM box. Took CMS DB/FRS back up. Installed BI 4.1 sp5 with the same user as used for BOXI 3.1 sp7 - Installation was successful. At the time of Installation .bash_profile was pointing to Oracle 10g -64bit client as the customer did not have 11g client at that point in time. Run the UMT on a separate Windows box and migrated the contents in incremental upgrade way from BOXI 3.1 sp7 to BI 4.1 SP5.

 

During testing found that when ever reports are scheduled 10 at a time , AJS is set to 10, webi server goes down with error "server intelligence agent for this server is unavailable" once even AJS went down with same error. Start from CMC doesnt help always SIA has to be restarted. This happens after around 30-40 jobs are run in a day. Increased webi memory from default 6GB to 9GB and now even removed the memory limit. Still webi goes down at the end of job run and cannot come up on its own neither start works from CMC.

 

bash_profile has been now pointed to Oracle 11g 64bit DB Client but still services are unable to register them selves with SIA

 

Any suggestions would greatly help

Error in Searching the report objects in Launchpad

Hi All,

 

We recently migrated to BI 4.1 SP05 Patch 04 from XI R3.1 Sp6, We migrated entire content using UMT one shot.

We have about 50,000 webi documents in our repository.

 

After migration I Indexed the content Webintelligence reports only, once done I set the crawling freequecy to Schedule Crawling.

When my users are trying to search for webi report objects in Launchpad they are receiving following errors.

 

"The property with ID SI_CUID does not exist in the object (FWM 02021)"

or

"Ajava.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsExc eption occurred;original exception

message 500"

 

I get error if use search without double quotes also a single word with double quotes.

 

Example

 

Search for a word Grant, I get error

Search for a word Grant Plan, I get error

Search for a word "Grant", I get error

Search for a word "Grant Plan", it works

 

The search feature only works when I use 2 or more words as search phrase with double quotes (ex "Search Phrase").

Also, search works fine in CMC

 

I had opened a ticket with SAP and they asked me to reindex the content which took 3 days to complete with continues crawling.

It started workign fine after that.

 

Last week end platform servers got rebooted as part of maintanance and users again started getting the same errors when searching.

 

As reindexing taking 3 days, it's not a fesible solution.

Is there any solution to this or am I missing something?

 

Environemnt:

Windows 2012

SQL Server 2008

Tomcat 7

Clustered Environment

We did APS split and we have a dedicated APS for Platform Search allocated 6 GB RAM.

Master Index is in a shared location

 

Has anybody came acrosss this issue and any recomondations that I can follow ?

Export to CSV changes Column Headers and order of Columns

when a webi report is exported as a txt file the structure of the report remains in tact, however, when the option to export as a csv is chosen the headers change and the order of the headers are changed.

 

Has anyone found a resolution or patch to fix this issue?

 

Currently on BI 4.0 SP05 Patch 2 and have tested in SP06.

DESKI REPORTS :search for some particular pattern

We have a requirement from business to search for the
occurrence of a Particular Word( “ Name of the bank “)  and get stack of the same
from all BO Reports 500+ ( not the data part which will be taken care by
database layer  but the header or any hardcoding) on Deski reports for one of the application

Is there a Smart  way of achieving this analysis
report  ?   I need to complete the analysis very quickly .

 

I have to modify the name of the bank on all the reports.

 

Please  suggest . I don’t want to take the path where each
report is manually checked  for occurrence.

BI Platform 4.1 with WinAD SSO: why BI Launchpad WinAD SSO sessions are indicated by "Logon Client without ID" in CMC?

Hi everybody,
in our BI4.1SP5environmentwithactivationofSSOwithWinAD, when a userconnects to BI LaunchPadportalusingthis type ofauthentication,in CMC\Sessionsthe new sessionappearsbutin "Client Session" the system shows "without ClientLogonID".

With other applications like Explorer, no problems.

However, ifLogin is done withoutthe useofSSObut, for example, withauthenticationWinAD only it correctlyshows"BILaunchPad"in "ClientSession" field.

Does anyone knowwhy and how to fix it?

Large Number of failed Jobs in BO CMC

Hello Experts,

 

Our BO 4.1 machine is responding really slow. On making few basic checks, we found that many job are failed but i am not sure the reason of it and when I looked into the settings

 

find the attached number of jobs which were failed

 

Could someone help and advice what and where to check?

Change the frontpage of Bi Launchpad

Hi

We recently implemented SAP BOBJ and the Executive Board want to mantain the some standards and thwy wanrto change the front page of BI Launchpad front page with some images with the logo of the company.

If possible do that change and where I can find the html file to change the frontapage of the platform.

BI 4.1 Sp6 SFTP Fingerprint Issue

Hi Everyone,

 

We have a new feature SFTP enabled in BI 4.1 SP6 & above , with this new feature we have the facility to send BO documents securely by SFTP using the Finger Print option.  The detailed procedure is explained in the below discussion and also in the SAP Note 2183131

I tried this approach but am facing issues in getting the finger print value. This is what I did

 

  1. Upgraded from BI 4.1 Sp5 to BI 4.1 Sp6
  2. Configured the Adaptive Job Server in the CMC with the SFTP details in the Destination , also enabled Tracing
  3. This enabled the SFTP option in BI launchpad
  4. In BI Launchpad I scheduled a report to the SFTP location by specifying the host/user details with a dummy fingerprint
  5. To successfully SFTP I have to get the hexadecimal key equivalent to the dummy finger print , which should be updated in the Adaptive Job server
  6. Here lies the problem, when I look at the logging files (GLF file) I do not get the hexadecimal finger print , instead I get the below error

  destination_sftp: exception caught while connecting to sftp server [ourhostname]. Details: [unknown error!].


Can anyone let me know if you have faced a similar issue ?How do I resolve this ?

BI 4.1 SP4 Auditor and BI Widgets

Is there a way to determine the Webi refreshes that occur from BI Widgets?  I have a handful of users that use BI Widgets and they have a very high number of refreshes per day.  I would like to be able to identify which of these refreshes is from BI Widgets.  Is that possible?  I can't seem to figure out how you can get that.

Windows ad sso with f5 load balancer

Hi, We are in version Bi 4.1sp5 We have clustered environment 2 nodes in 2 servers with 2 tomcats,connected by loadbalancer server 1  server1.domain.com server 2  server2.domain.com f5  bireports.domain.com SSO is working for individual nodes, however it is not working for load balancers. Appreciate if you could share is there any pre-requisite to be followed for load balancers Thanks

BI Launch Pad - View a folder of documents with hyperlinks

Hello all!

 

I am very very very new to the BI Platform, and BusinessObjects in general, and I am in the processing of customising a workspace for the Launch Pad.

 

I've noticed there is a built in Module as part of the BI Launch Pad Modules called "My Recently Run Documents" and was wondering if it is possible to either customise this module or create a new one in a similar fashion.

 

What I want to be able to do is create a list of all documents in a folder, and display them in the same way the "My Recently Run Documents" does, with links to the files inside the folder. Basically the same as the "My Recently Run Documents" module, but using files that are in a folder that I've created instead.

 

Is this possible through creating a BI Workspace or a Module, or is there a different way to achieve this?

CMS crash with core files and multiple report output generation

Happy new year to everyone,

 

Our BOXIR3.1SP6FP2 env has recently started behaving weirdly by triggering multiple output to users inbox and email notification out of scheduled reports. Also we have noticed the CMS crash with core file (almost 4GB) generation at the time of multiple report output.

 

Most of the times, CMC crashes and recycles itself. At few times, CMS services alone went shut down.

 

OS details: RHEL 5.5, 32 GB RAM, 8 core processor on each of the clustered node, Oracle 10GR2.4 CMS DB server, 11GR2.4 oracle reporting DB server and oracle 11.1.0.6 client.

CMC Role Import Error

Hi,

 

I do get the following error as soon as I click on CMC->Authentication->Role Import.

 

HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.sap.conn.jco.JCo

 

I have seen quite a few discussions wherein it has been said the issue has been resolved either by re-deploying the web-apps or entering the Java class path as "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib\sapjco3.jar" in Tomcat configuration.

 

But I do see this as a option for a single box installation. What we have is split tier clustered environment.

 

i.,e., Machine A (BOE) is different and Machine B (Tomcat) is different.

 

In this case, what would be the ideal solution?. If I have to configure SAPjco and respective dll's on my tomcat's machine, does anyone has the steps to do it ?
