Java Error when opening WEBI from BI Launchpad?
Hi I am working with colleagues on building a WEBI dashboard on the BI Launchpad. However, my colleagues are unable to access WEBI fully (view/edit reports) because the following error displays on their Internet Explorer web browser:
"Cannot launch Java Report Panel, please make sure you have installed a Java virtual machine"
I have tried asking them to download the latest version of Java and still this error is not resolved. Does anyone know the root cause of this and how I can provide a solution for my colleagues?

AO - https Web Serice URL
Hello,
I have ssl configured in Tomcat with no issues. For Analysis for Office connecting to BOBJ we have issues with https web service URL.
AO web service url has no issues with http.
http://myserver.mycompany.com:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session
AO web service URL with https gives "Error while checking availability of SAP..."
https://myserver.mycompany.com:8143/dswsbobje/services/Session
Both URLs work in browser and I'm able to test services. I found note 1812984 - SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0
Client Tools on https not workingthat mentions maintaining param in axis2.xml which I have done below. Still we receive same error with https url. Any ideas on what else to check?

SAP BW 3.x Web Templates
Hello Experts,
Iam New to BI/BW space.
Need your opinion in giving information on SAP BW 3.x Web Templates.I heard that BW 3.X Web templates is an old method of generating reports. Our BI team is planning to make these templates Obsolete.I came to know that using these templates I can generate standard reports in Project and Portfolio Management Module.Can you please help how to use these Web Templates even when we move to BI 7.x.
Current System Configuration:ECC 6.0 Ehp6,sp4 and BI 7.3
About PPM reports:
There are standard reports available in SAP Project and Portfolio Management module for which BI content activation is required.
Whenever i try to generate report it shows up an error saying that Error Loading Template:0TPLI_0RPM_C03_Q0202.
Accessing PPM using NWBC for HTML.
Does Anyone worked on SAP PPM reports using BI content.Your Suggestions will be very much helpful.

SAP BO High-Availability System in Promotion Management
Hello all,
I've just configured an SAP BO System as High-Available within our landscape (QAS)
We have 3 BO systems right now (DEV, TEST and QAS).
DEV and TEST systems are standard SAP BO installations and the QAS system is a high-available clustered system.
(SCS for the SAP Java system is on the cluster, 2 application servers for the SAP Java and 2 application servers for the BusinessObjects)
Now I want to add the new HA BO-system to the promotion management I have previously set up for the DEV and TEST system.
But I can't seem to make this promotion management set-up follow the high-available system as I have to add the CMS Physical Host for one
of the BO application servers.
(under promotion management -> manage servers)
Is there a possibility to enter the SCS-instance as a server or something else so that the promotion will be redirected to the best possible CMS?
Notice: We are NOT using a tomcat webserver but we are using the SAP Java webserver.

DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found.
Hello Everyone,
We are getting an error while trying to create an Universe via Microsoft -> MS Analysis Services 2014 -> OLEDB for OLAP Provider under Connection in UDT -"DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found." We have installed BI 4.1 SP05 in our system. As per earlier posts in scn in BO XI 3.x this issue used to be for improper installation of Integration KIT but in our scenarion Integration KIT is within the BO 4.1 package so no seperate installation is required. Moreover I have checked whether all the driver is present under file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers" and seems everything is fine. But still I am getting this error. One important point is we could use IDT because in IDT still we don't have option to connect with 'Microsoft Analysis Services - 2014 (XMLA)' as we are using Microsoft Analysis Services 2014 version.
Kindly help if anyone has faced the same problem with SAP BO 4.1.

Hi all,
I am using crystal reports server XI to schedule and email reports. However sometimes the daily reports do not return any rows(this is correct), but it still emails a blank report. Is there a way to stop it from emailing if the report has no rows in it?

SAP BI4.1 certificate error when i try to access BI4.1 CMC URL

I am trying to access CMC URL for the testing purpose on the issue i.e certificate ,
I am just wondering that the same certificate error existing for BO CMC URL ,so when i try to access the URL ,its not allowing me for the authentication and its giving the below error ,Please help me .
Please note that i have installed certificates in my local system ,but at the movement it shown that "certificates successfully imported ",But after this ,no change i.e issue existing ,Please help me on it ASAP .

Installing SAP BI 4.1 SP04 on a Multi-Node setup
Hi all. We are planning to install BI 4.1 SP04 on a 5 node(server) setup with Web Server and application server on two nodes and processing servers distributed on other 3 nodes. We have performed Sizing according to SAP BI sizing guide and configured servers with required CPU CORES and Memory per server. Now the question I have is on actual installation. I read few documents and installation guides and still left with so many questions and I'm hoping someone here can explain it in better and easier way for this type of installation.
1) Since web tier (TOMCAT 7, bundled with BI 4.1 SP04)is on separate server and CMS is on separate server, I have questions on how to configure these two and tie them up
2) since I'm using TOMCAT 7 bundled from SAP, do I need to use WDeploy to deploy WAR files?
3) If I want to split Static and Dynamic Contents for WEB SERVER, can I do that after installing the BI server and then revisit the configuration for splitting WEB SERVER?
4) if I want to provide a custom URL (change server name to something like "http://MyCompany41TEST/BO/BI" ) what all should I change
And any help on providing a clear cut document for installation, would be much helpful.

Failed instances for a particular month
Hi Experts,
Can you help me with the query to list the no of failed instances through query builder for the month of March only?
I'm also trying to get the data from instance manager as I'm interested to analyse the error with which the reports failed, but it is only listing it for a specific user even though its not selected in any of the criteria. Not so sure why

SAP BO 4.1 SP 4.0 Platform - deployment of BI Mobility solution for iOS
Hi,
Hope you can shed some light on the process of deployment of BI Mobility Solution for iOS.
I have a test SAP BO 4.1 SP 4 platform which I have installed a while ago. I would now like to deploy BI Mobility solution for iOS.
I've read lots of relevant documentation on this process but it is very confusing to say the least.
In this version (BO 4.1 SP 4), do I need to Webdeploy MobileBIService.war and MOBIServer.war files ?
The documentation for BO4.1 4.0 states that these files are "auto-deployed". What does this mean ?
Does this mean that I don't need to anything else in terms of configuring BI Mobility server ?
How do I verify that my BI Mobility server component has been correctly deployed and configured on SAP BO 4.1. SP4 platform ?
Where do I need look in order to verify this ?
I would appreciate greatly if you could provide a brief Step-by-Step process on how to configure BI Mobility on SAP BO 4.1 SP4 platform as I'm really struggling with this.

Crystal reports data not longer saved completely after 4.1 upgrade
Hello,
I am in the process of upgrading from 4.0 sp6 to 4.1 sp4.
The vast majority of our reports are Crystal reports, and the way we deploy is by scheduling BO to publish a rpt file on the server.
My problem is that with some of our main reports, the data isn't saved completely so I get the error:
This report does contain saved data, but it is not complete. This version of the Crystal Reports viewer does not support fetching further data; viewing cannot continue.
The output of the 4.0 report almost 2MB, compared to 100k for the 4.1 output.
EVERYTHING else is the same. The only difference is the version of Business Objects server. On the server side, the difference seems to be that 4.0 uses the 'Crystal Reports 2011' server and 4.1 uses the 'Crystal Reports 2013' server.
Anyone has an idea? This is stopping our migration to 4.1 (and the fact that Crystal Viewer doesn't seem to work very well for newer MACs isn't helping either).

Hi all,
Russia passed a law to change its time zones on October 26th 2014. Has this change to time zones been addressed by SAP in SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 and BI 4.1? If so in which service packs or patches?

adding second BI platform server
Hi.
We are planning to add add a second BI platform server to our configuration. I have not done this before and I am trying to find out what actions should be done to get it working besides adding the 2nd server, installing BI platform on the 2nd server and changing the cluster name. And how will I be able to balance the load on the 2 BI servers? (Besides APS splitting.)
Current configuration:
1 Tomcat server
1 BI server
1 DB server (SQL server, 1 CMS DB and 1 AUDIT DB)
Planned configuration:
1 Tomcat server
2 BI servers (both with separate CMS running)
1 DB server (SQL server, 1 CMS DB and 1 AUDIT DB)
All advice is very welcome.

Windows AD for BI4.1
Hi ,
We are upgrading from BO3.1 to BI4.1. We are running into issues when trying to configure Windows-AD integration . Here are the steps we followed-
1. Restarted the SIA on new BI4.1 box with 3.1 service account-Success
2. Updated Windows-AD configuration in CMC (selections, group name, SPN same as 3.1)
3. Copied krb5.ini and bsclogin.conf from 3.1 to BI4, box and updated the location in tomcat config.
5. restarted the server.
I am getting windows AD authentication error.Any pointers?

Crystal reports LOV
We have migrated from 3.1 to 4.1 recently and this regarding our crystal reports that have dynamic prompts.
When running these reports as Administrator they work ok. However, if anyone who is not an administrator runs them the List of Values is blank and will not allow a selection.Thoughts?
