User getting message below and reporting not allowing he had to use punctuation characters in his password
Our password policy is only to contain 6 characters so don't undertstand why he is getting this message and how he has to use punctuation characters.
Also looking at authentication for enterprise and looks like not even posisble to enfore punctuation characters in passwords.
Any thoughts?

I have installed Crystal Server 2013 onto Windows Server 2012. I originally installed 32 bit Oracle client for Crystal report connectivity. This was working fine until I wanted to use Crystal 4 Enterprise which needs 64 bit drivers. After installing 64 bit client the 32 bit was rendered useless. I have tried many combinations and complete clean re-installs, but whichever one is installed last kills the other one.
One of the biggest issues is that I am unable to open the Oracle Net Manager for the client installed first.
Is there a proven way to set this up?
FYI... This is only for the connectivity of the clients and reporting tools. No audit or CMS DB is being used with Oracle.

I have configured LDAP authentication in new environment. There is no any error during the configuration and it says it's been updated. But I am not able to login using my LDAP User ID nor any other can login. This is the separate environment. We have DEV1 environment in one instance and DEV2 environment(NEW ENVIRONMENT) in other instance on the same box. LDAP works fine with the DEV1 instance. Alias has been updated for each group created.
What am I missing here?

I am facing an issue today with promotion manager (BI 4 SP6 ) and scratching my head what can be wrong..
Trying to promote a new Webi report / Universe and a Infospace but while checking the dependency browser the some of the dependent folder does not appear... However for some lot more folder comes up like Root etc...
After promoting it as expected fails with this message...
Resolution Status=Copied, Dependency Status=Some of the required dependencies are not selected., Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed., Promotion Status=Failure : Must create object under its defined root folder.
Appreciate your help in this issue..
We have an application that requires the report application server be set to "Server" option type rather than "Database".
This is within Central Configuration Manager, Report Application Server - parameters tab - option type.
When we attempt to change to "Server" - it simply doesn't change.
The RAS is shut off when we attempt to change.I've tried shutting off any services related to Crystal, then changing - it just never changes. Is there any kind of dependency we're missing, maybe a bug, not sure where to turn next.

BI launchpad preferences >> web intelligence , some the users doesn't have access. I need to remove that right. Confused where to remove everyone group or specific group, access level , application level.
I cannot change preference for only webi .
So I am trying to set the FileInputServer and the ReportApplicationServer to a static port and port range. When I type in -requestPort 1020 (I have tried several ports that show they are not in use) into the command line parameters and hit save the -requestPort 1020 disappears....how do I set a proper static port and port range?

I would like to know how to create OpenDocument links that show only part of a BI Workspace.
Imagine that you have a BI Workspace with many tabs and you want to create a link that brings you directly to the tab that you want without showing other tabs of that BI Workspace.

We have an BI 4.1 Installation on Windows server 2008 and we have upgraded our server to windows server 2008 R2. After the installation , we have identified that our SIA is missing .
Our CMS and Audit databases are fine. How can I recreate new SIA ? Can any one give us steps ? I know I could go for entire new installation again. But i want to deal this situation.

I have a requirement to hide folders inside a BI workspace navigation for specific user group. In the workspace I have 2 folders ( Folder A and Folder B ) and 2 user groups (UGA and UGB). As per the requirement UGA and UGB should have View access to the Workspace but UGA should see only Folder A and UGB should see only FolderB.
Please let me know if any options to hide or restrict the access only specific folders insid BI Workspace.

We are upgrading to BI 4.1 sp05 patch 1 from BI 4.0 sp06 and having issues with both Webi and Crystal reports against SAP data source.Webi reports which use BICS connections are working fine.
The issue is with Webi reports against BW universe giving error "The database SQL generation parameters file could not be loaded (SAP Business Warehouse, SAP BAPI)"
Crystal reports against ECC data source "The viewer could not process an event. The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect. [] ---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]"
We have setup SNC using Kerberos.
I do see some warnings in the logs ""Caught Warning : There is no registry pointing to 32-bit sapcrypto.dll. It will fail to SNC logon SAP"
I checkedthe registry settings and do see that the below registry key has already been set.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > SAP BusinessObjects >Suite XI 4.0 > SAP > SNC_LIB_32

We have a problem in BPC Excel Add-In when use EPM formatting in SAP BPC 10 NW SP5 801 Component.
We have formatted trhought EPM Formatting two dimensión members see the attached report (we want to apply "Objetive Format" in the next row ("red Font and grey background cell) however the tool does not respect the format applied, always let the same format as depicted in the picture (see "System Format"). That is strange because we didn´t put any format in EPM format Sheet.

I am new to business objects, and there is a requirement of configuring LDAP authentication for our SAP BO 4.1 system.
BO is installed on red hat linux. I want to import all windows ad users in BO but not sure how to achieve this. I checked on google but could not find any good article which explain my doubts.
