I want to place my company logo on the BI launch Pad.
I have copied the Logo under the folder BOINSTALL\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB -INF\eclipse\plugins\webpath.InfoView\web\images
Updated the file SAP_logo_reg.png with the company logo.
But the issue is - the company logo is been cutoff.
How can i resize the space where the current SAP logo is, in order to fit my company logo??
Hi, IN SAP BI 4.0 only administrators are able to access the Information Designer tools no one else can access it.
We have given fiull control on Applications, Universe and Connections but not able to login.
i have verified the User Gude and they mentioned the follwing info but i couldn't able to figure out how to give these rights to login into IDT.
To open a session on the repository system and do all secured tasks in the information design tool:
u2022 You must have a username and password configured by the system administrator in the CMC for
the CMS where the repository is stored.

I have created a report in Crystal Enterprise. for the connection, I created using "Connection by Vendor" option using the below driver:
Oracle --> Oracle 11 --> Oracle OCI
I'm able to get data in the report but when I try to export it to the BI Server, I get the below error:
"This report contains a data source connection that cannot be saved to SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) Platform."
so my question is how can I save the connection which I created to the repository. Do I have to depend only on the Relational connections created using Universe designer? If yes, then what is the purpose of this option in the Crystal Enterprise?
we are on BI4.1 SP1

Hello,
I am attempting to audit universe activity as some developers are changing joins and other things that are causing issues for everyone else that reports to that universe. No one is sure who is doing what within the universe so I am trying to use the auditing universe to aduit....well, universes. I'm able to audit reports within all of the universes but I'm unable to figure out how to audit the universe activities themselves.
Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly greatly appreciated.

We are currently running BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP4 and intend to upgrade to 3.1 SP7 due to Internet Explorer 11 being rolled out at our organisation.
Our client computers will remain using Oracle Java 6 with Internet Explorer 11. In the document "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 for Windows – Supported Platforms" the Support Browsers section only lists Oracle Java 7 as a supported JVM.
Is anyone aware of what the issues are with using Oracle Java 6 and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7?

We are planning to customize logon screen with different screen, my company follows standard logon screen for all applications, in the same way they want to apply customizations to BI4.1 launchpad, can you please let me where we have apply changes. the basic customization's will not work for my company, I need to change entire logon screen.

Unable to open a Crystal Report through CMC or Launchpad. It throws the below error
"The viewer could not process an event. Failed to open the connection - Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]"
Tried updating the 14 character length long password for the Database user but once i say update the encrypted password length reduced to 10 character.
So, i am not sure whether the correct password getting updated or not? Do we have any length limitations here? Could you please help.
Other reports created on top of the same database is running fine.
ODBC 32bit and 64 bit DSN is configured for MS SQL server. Not sure what's going wrong.
I see many of them like me faced this issue. Is it a product bug. If not, why many customers like us are getting this issue. Why SAP is not doing a permanent fix to it.
We are using BO 4.0 SP6.

Hi Experts,
I just wanted to inquire this issue experienced by our users belonging to a specific user group. The users are getting "Failed to connect to the OLAP source " whenever they are refreshing the data. I've checked and found that the user group has enough privilege in both Folders and OLAP Connection.
These users are accessing Launchpad using their SAP Account; and they are experiencing the issue here. However, when they their Enterprise account, it works just fine.
We have users with 1 Enterprise account having the SAP alias and other users with separate entries for the Enterprise and SAP account in CMC. But all of them are still getting the error when they use their SAP account to access the Launchpad.

I can log in to the CMC with AD authentication just fine as can several others but we have a few users with the same AD setup and my own and they can not login. I also had one user who coudl log in fine at 3 and then an hour later they could not.
And ideas on where to troubleshoot. It seems that everything I find is related to setting up SSO and new installation. But we have been up and running without any problems for some time.

In the below table (expand the picture to see it all), we wish to insert a field called "Operator Name" (yellow).
This Operator Name value will come from the table on the left hand side and should be a variable. Basically we need to do some sort of look up to check if there was an operator logged into the machine at the time that the "Alarm" (right hand table) occured.
i.e. Alarm occurred at 07:15, which operator was logged on? Answer= Joe. Alarm occurred at 08:33, which operator was logged on? Answer=unknown
Is this possible using a Web-i variable?

I am new to this portal and I seek you guys help to resolve the below error its very urgent.
I have encountered an error while updating the data from PSA to Infocube i.e. Purchasing Data Cube 0PUR_C01 from the Data Source 2LIS_02_ITM in R3 extraction.
The Error is-
"Exceptions in Substep: Rules".
"Messages for 101 data records saved: request is RED according to configuration."
"Processing Terminated."
Data Package2: Errors during processing.

Updating to Infocube 0PUR_C01

The above in RED is the entire error.
When I explored the error message to see the long text then following was appeared---

I am able to open the BI Launch Pad Link on the Windows Server BUT not in client laptop
1. I checked the Tomcat is working fine checking the tomcat link http://systemname:port no
2. same link able to access in windows server.
3. all bo servers and CMS is up and running...
default link http://systemname:portnumber/BOE/BI

Hi, can anybody tell me how I can get the 3 option (space) as a Text Qualifier when saving a Webi doc as a CSV. In Prod we have upgraded to SP5 thru the modify path on the install media and do not have this option. In Dev we did a fresh install of SP5 using the same media disc and there we get a 3rd option when saving to csv. both versions are XIR3 sp5 but show different builds via the CMC. Is this option controlled by an xml property file on the app server? Refreshing the Prod instance with a new BO install is not a good option - too many obstacles. This is the only difference I've noted and one that is causing an extra step to strip off double quotes from scheduled Webi docs delivered as CSV files to a file share in Prod.

I created alerts in Crystal reports 2011 and CRe and saved them to BI platform, scheduled both reports and am able to view the alerts in the history of both reports. So far good, but I don't see 'Subscribe' option in right context menu.
-> I am using Admin account and have full control also (Subscribe to Alerts and view this Object in the CMC) granted

My BI Launchpad shows like below (No 'Subscribe' & No special Alert icon in the left side either) :
is there any easy way to extract the installs from EXE? Multipart rar files gets extracted first before the install. But updates & patches extracts to %temp% folder and starts the install automatically. After the install the files are deleted automatically. I would like to extract upfront to save sometime. I tried some commandline options but no go. I understand I can get some 3rd party tools to extract the exe's but its not an option in our case due to various security reasons. Any suggestions?

We are running Data Services 14.1.2 using Oracle as the source and destination databases. The source database is using Character Set WE8ISO8859P15, the destination database is WE8MSWIN1252. The source columns are defined as CHAR and the destination columns are VARCHAR2. The source table has a value of Z2BÂTIMENTS when looking at the data through SQL Developer. Data Services is converting it to Z2BATIMENTS even when looking at the data using the "View Data" option on the input table. I've changed the "Code page" and Server code page" settings in the data store trying many options. Nothing corrects the problem. How do I configure Data Services to use the extended character set?

The BI Launchpad is embedded as a tab in our SAP portal. When I open the BI Launchpad via the portal I briefly can see the top bar containing the Home/Documents tabs, Preferences link etc, then about 1/2 a second later it disappears completely dropping me into the Documents tab, albeit missing the tabs bar on the top of the screen. When I open the BI Launchpad via the direct link I have no problem seeing the Home/Documents tabs, preferences etc. I am on IE 10, Windows 7 SP1, and BI 4.1 SP02 (Version: 14.1.2.1121). According to the PAM documents for 4.1 this shouldn't be a problem as it is supported. I tested this with the latest version of firefox and it does not have the same problem, so that rules out security.
Anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening?
