We are working on upgrading from XI3.1x to BI4.0sp7patch2. Testing for our Production upgrade takes a long time, there are over 300,000 objects.
I have followed the recommendations in SAP Note 1654423 to change the properties of the Upgrade Management Tool shortcut to increase the amount of RAM used. On our installation the default setting in the shortcut was -Xmx8g. I increased this to -Xmx12g but I never observed the server using more than 8GB of RAM even though there was 16GB of RAM available.
Is there something that has been added to the UMT that limits the amount of memory that it will use?
The server is a Windows 2012 server.
