we successfully built a report in designer using the local pc's odbc connection to our ibm iseries with the driver that was installed on the pc when the ibm software was installed. everything works great on the pc when running the report
we loaded the rpt into a folder with CMC and tried to run it and we continually get the screen below. the ibm odbc drivers were installed on the 08R2 server that is hosting CR2011 and we created a system DSN called epak, which matches the PC exactly.
so i have a couple of questions...
1. how does CR2011 know what odbc connection to use? i guess that is contained within the rpt file we uploaded i assume.
2. the logon credentials to the iseries are completely different than the AD authentication we use to logon to CR2011 CMC and BI launchpad, does that matter? seems to be from the database config options on the report it shouldnt'.
3. we have a generic id and pw on the iseries we use for all of our reports that i would like to either embed into the report when it is created in designer OR a better solution would be to setup the odbc connection or something of that nature in the CMC and program that Id and PW in there.
4. we will in the future begin creating rpt's to a sql server we have and i didn't notice sql server (Microsoft) being an available connection in the database config of the report, any reason why?
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you all.
