We have universes that we used to create different reports, InfoView reports. And we need to find out in which of them.

Is there a way to determine Document Title from the title of the instance?

We utilize report scheduling a lot. Most of the scheduled reports send out Emails to different user groups. Most of the scheduled reports that send out Emails use Instance Title in the as the subject line in the Email.

One of the managers forwarded one such Emails that was created by BO and asked me to make adjustments to the distribution list. Even I created the original reoccurring instance it was challenging for me to locate the actual BO document - it was about 12+ month ago since I worked with particular BO document, instance title did not match document title and lot of new BO documents were developed and scheduled since.

Eventually I found the document I was looking for but I am wondering if there is a way to determine title of the document from the Instance title.

We have an old server running some xir2 business objects and the C:\windows\temp folder regularly grows currently nearly 18gb

This is reports still to be migrated to bo4 - most stuff on bo4.

Is it safe to delete content of c:\windows\temp and any idea would it be get so large - believe has been houskept a few time srecently.

I am configuring SSO using windows AD, as of now I am able to login to client and BI launchpad using Windows AD authentication successfully, but silent authentication is not working when I enter url in web browser.

We are having BO XI 3.1 SP 7 enviornment an using manual LDAP authentication enabled. Recently we have observed that when our LDAP server hangs the entire BO authentication doesnt work(DEV/QA?PROD). We have LDAP servers in clusted and are load balanced, i.e We have a load balancer first and then LDAP servers in cluster(3).

While configuring the LDAP authentication we have given the Load balancer as the LDAP host in Business Objects.

Other tools are not facing this issue and its specific to BO tool.

I spent the last hour pulling my hair out googling and searching service for the Live Office 4.0 original install file to upgrade it to 4.1 on my local machine. Can someone please tell me where to find the original 4.0 LO install file? I found some old threads on here, but service has changed quite a bit since then and they're irrelevant now.

I have been migrating some content from boxir2 to BO4 SP4 and the problem with the Crystal Reports that have been migrated is that datetime fields display incorrectly in openDocument.

In crystal 2011 designer and in the BILaunchpad, the datetimes display as DD/MM/YYYY HH:mm:ss, which is the correct English UK format.

When opening the document with OpenDocument, the datetime displays as MM/DD/YYYY HH:mm:ss AM/PM

The url used to open the report in openDocument is http://**********:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=rpt&sDocName=MyReport.rpt

If anyone as encountered this problem before and knows what the solution is then please help! I have looked for an answer but couldn't find one

Recently I have implemented SSO with windows AD and it's working fine with below kind of URL and company internal users will use this for SSO.

http://bod-XXX:8080/BOE/BI

Now we have external users where those users cannot use SSO, so planned to provide nonSSO url.

http://bod-xxx:8080/BOE/BI/logonNoSso.jsp

Now management is asking to do customization's to login and logoff pages, I am not sure where I have to implement customization to effect both URL's. I changed image on logon page and the changes were reelected on both URL's.

Is it possible to customize non SSO URL alone, I am planning to make default authentication as 'Enterprise' and hide System and 'Authentication' fields.

We've recently upgraded a BI Platform installation to 4.1 SP4. This was done via a full installation to SP3, then an in-place upgrade to SP4.

Several freshly collected CTS+ imports (of folders and reports only) have been failing with the following error citing duplicate Root Folder entries. Any insights into a cause/correction would be appreciated:

Exception: com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.internal.InfoStoreException:

Could not commit object 'Root Folder' because another object with the same name and type already exists under object '<my system id>:6400'. (FWB 00026)

cause:com.crystaldecisions.enterprise.ocaframework.idl.OCA.oca_abuse: IDL:img.seagatesoftware.com/OCA/oca_abuse:3.2 detail:Could not commit object 'Root Folder' because another object with the same name and type already exists under object '<my system id>:6400'. (FWB 00026) The server supplied the following details: Trying to create an object with duplicate name. Id = 43336

The Root Folder on each system appears to be in place with the same si_id and CUID in both the source and target system. There are no user created folders with a conflicting name. Another oddity is that neither system has any object with si_id = 43336, let alone the Root Folders (which are all the standard si_id of 23).

When scheduling a Crystal report, the page to configure the prompt answers does not have any prompts answered by default - they all appear as "[EMPTY]". This means that any required prompts must be answered during configuration of the alert schedule. Since prompt is required and the default value (which is equivalent to not answering the prompt) is not available in the selection list.

Is there any way around it?

Ideally I would like the prompts to keep the default values, so I could schedule the report for all the prompt answers (Whole list of value) instead of having at least one prompt value.

Is there any configuration in crystal reports or on database side that could help me resolve the issue.

I have published a WEBi block as web service that I am trying to consume as data source for universe in Infromation Design tool.

I am able to create a relation connection to published web service using Generic | Web Services (WSDL 1.1) | Web Services Connector.

In data foundation above connection does expose various "GetReportBlock_ ..." objects that I can add as table into my data foundation. Like,

None of these obejcts show structure as per structure of the WEBi table that was published as web service. Instead, it shows whole bunch of input variables, like,

Now, here I am not sure what value to provide to these variables, they all show up as mandatory. And if I add these as it is into businesslayer, create test quey on these objects, I get failed to refresh error.

My question is,

- Is it even possible to do what I am trying?

- Is this something to do with web services configuration / settings on my BI server?

Also, I am able to consume this web service in a new WEBi docuement (as a test) successfuly.

My server is BI 4.1 SP2 P2.

I have a few concerns here.

Is it normal for a cms_log.ldf increases about 1gb within 2 weeks?

I have shrink the log file last monday. The size was shrinked to 102mb and when I check today I increases to 1gb.

we have cluster of two weblogic servers ( version 10) on linux RHEL 5.1 connecting to 2 apache servers( version 2.0) on HP-UX servers.

I have cluster.properties on one of the WL server where I put the fqdn:port of both CMS servers which are two other machines other than WL and Apache.

dwws.properties have the entry of ip:6400 of one of the CMS machines.

While logging in to QAAWS, sometimes I get unknow error, sometimes WS unknown.

Sometimes I get a logon and select a universe but then I get this error below.

Any ideas?

Hi all,

I have a system on SAP BI BO 4 SP6. I've created an oracle schema for auditing and done the appropriate configuration in CMC. However, in CMC, I'm getting the below warning and nothing is being recorded in the audit tables:

I've split the main APS and have a separate APS for auditing. It consists of the client auditing proxy services.

Pls advise to resolve this issue.

My Question is regarding the input file format used in Information steward , Our client wants to import the XSD file generated from the SAS tool (for SAS to SAP BI Migration) as a source file in SAP BO IS . Does the file needs be in CWM format as per OMG standard or the tool has capability to indentify the source file format

Hello,

Everyday we are executing audit reports which tells us report execution time for all our daily scheduled reports. Here we have observed some discrepancy between the time shown in the instance history verses auditing report's data. For example, if XYZ report took 120 seconds to execute, our auditing report shows 110 seconds only (-10 sec difference); however instance status in report history shows 120 sec only.

Here are environment details:

Product: SAP BI 4.0 SP6 Patch 6

Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2

CMS DB: Oracle 11g R2

Auditing DB: Oracle 11g R2

We would like to know why there is a difference? Please advise!
