Hi All,

Our IT team have recently rolled out the Good Access browser to all coroprate mobiles (Iphone).

The Good Browser / "Good Access" App lets users view the intranet and get as far as the BI Lunch pad, so i assume the connection is secure and inside of our network.

However, when I try and log inot the launch pad, the error message "Invalid confidential channel (FWB 00032)" appears and I am unable to get any further.

After some searching, it would appear that FIPS may have be cuasing the problem, FIPS is currently disabled .

We are using 4.1 SP6.

Has anyone else had the same problem and has anyone managed to find a work around  / fix?

HI All, my company has started encounting this issue for all users that use Crystal Reports 2008.

Unable to logon to InfoView. Please contact your system administrator for assistance. Please close your brower before continuing.

This happens after the user enters in there logon credentials which are gathered from AD.

This issue has came up before for the company and the resolution would be to restart the Central Configuration Manager services, on the server hosting Crystal Reports Server 2008.

The services are Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 Ver: 2.0.1.0 and Server Intelligence Agent Ver: 2.0.1.0

I have done this and it has not helped fix the issue. Could someone please provide me assistance?

We have SAP BO BI 4.1 SP6 P3 and some Jobs are failing and getting in the logs next error:

We did the split and sizing for all services including the AJS. Also added the next parameters in the command line and no taking effect:

Also we have set the limits of simultaneous jobs and child requests to 10.

This is a 256Gb RAM server and we never achieve the limits in the process and in the RAM.

We are also monitoring with the jmmon and nothing different from memory perspectives:

am looking at the Auditing Reports pretty much for the first time, found "Last Login for User" and thought, oh, that sounds good.

BUT

- it's as is says, for "user", one user only . . . I would like all users, to gauge who's using the system frequently or not

- the drop-down prompt for the user isn't sorted alphabetically - who does that ?

So this is a standard (Crystal) report from SAP, can it be modified ? We don't have Crystal Reports for Enterprise yet, so when we get that, could I then modify this report ?

Users in the Default domain (D.CHILD1.PARENT.COM) are able to login manually using Windows AD.

But users in others domains (eg : A.CHILD1.PARENT.COM) are not able to login using manual AD. They are getting the below error :

I'm Using the SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 ,Lumira add-on is installed,
I'm using Lumira Desktop 1.29 to Save the lum documents to BOE server.

Now when I connected to HANA online connection and created a visualization, then when saved in BOE.

If I'm trying to view the saved lum document from the BI platform, I gives me "Cannot Execute Query Error".

Kindly guide me how to resolve this issue.

No matter what I do, I cannot get the functionality to work whereby users can change the value of the Input Controls. I keep on getting a "Your security profile does not include permission to edit this document. (Error: ERR_WIS_30252). Now before people start pointing me to previous queries raised on this, I have seen them and followed the instructions, but it still doesn't work. I have even given the users "Full Control", but still no luck.

Steps:

1) Copied Full Control ACL to TestACL and checked it had access to all Web Intelligence functionality, including formatting reports and using input controls.

2) Created User Group TestGroup and new user TestUser within the group.

3) Created new Public Folder TestFolder, assigned TestGroup as Principal in User Security and added TestACL for access (i.e. Full Control).

4) Using my own login, with Admin access, I created a new report added data, and then added an input control. This was then saved in the TestFolder.

5) Login as TestUser, able to open report, but as soon as I try and change the values in the input control, I get the above error.

How do I get this to work? I was planning on giving the users View access, and applying the ACL modifications as per instructions, but even with giving them full control it doesn't work. I'm obviously doing something that is going to cause a (doh) moment, but can't figure out what it is.

Our users have been encountering error while connecting to ‘Live Office’ in PROD. The connectivity to DEV and QA is fine; below is what all I tried –

• Logged into ‘Query as a Web Service’ PROD successfully. Copied the same Web Services URL to login to Live Office. But the login errors out with an error ‘An error occurred when requesting the token from the REST service.(LO 02049)’
• Logged into BO PROD CMC > Applications > Web Service > Properties > Access URL. Used this url to login to Live Office. But again the login errors out with an error ‘An error occurred when requesting the token from the REST service.(LO 02049)’
• Gone through SAP notes 2195111 and 2264579, but no luck; these did not help me resolve the issue

Can someone advise what if something is wrong?

We are trying to migrate BO Prod to BO Test Server with live 2 live.

SAP Notes suggest using LCM CLI. I have read many SAP Notes about it but I have some questions.

I have found SAP Notes ;

1634962 - BI4 - How to import or export a LifeCycle Manager BIAR file using command line utility

1873184 - How to promote all content under a given folder using LCM command line interface.

1969259 - LCM CLI Master Note - How to promote thousands of objects across BI4 environments

SAP Notes say that create export_properties and import_properties in C Driver in your disk. Should we do this Test System or Production System?

Which script should I write firstly to migrate the Prod BO content to Test BO lively? ("action = export" or "action = promote" , in code )

Can I use below select statement to migrate all content in Prod to Test without condition?

Hi all, I would like to ask a quick question regarding Aliasing a windows AD account to Enterprise account. We have done this aliasing and provided some security (access to few objects/applications). But now we are required to removed enterprise accounts as we are moving away from enterprise account as a part of policy. But our tests indicated that as soon as we remove enterprise account, it's AD Security is also removed. Now AD accounts will not have any security and does not belong to any group. So, how do we move ahead with our requirement and remove enterprise accounts , without erasing security?

Any ideas? btw, we are using BI4.1 SP6)

---- First Part: Password Audit

We are looking out whether there's any way to perform a password audit against the BusinessObjects BI Platform (4.1 SP 6).

The idea is to check whether any users are using very simple, easily guessed passwords (like for example "launchpad" or "12345") from a list.

I am of course aware that by definition such a "brute force" attack against the entire userbase is not desirable and that there should be (and probably are) protections against this in the platform, like password salting.

The only approach I can think of at the moment is to actually use the SDK and try to log on as each user with each "blacklisted" password.

Nonetheless I would like to ask:

- Is there any way to obtain the cleartext () or hashed () or salted & hashed () password for one or multiple users either through the SDK or through repository queries (in the latter case, information on the salting process would also be appreciated!)

---- Second Part: Custom Password Policy

After we have found an changed passwords that are too simple we would also like to implement custom password policies to, among other things, enforce a blacklist of forbidden passwords.

As far as I know there is no way to do this in the BI Platform, but I would be very happy to be told otherwise.

As an alternative this we are thinking of simply disallowing the users from changing their own password and at the same time providing our own "change password" application which enforces the policy and changes the password using a technical admin account.

However, in this scenario we would probably run into problems with forced password changes ("force user to change password"), since those password changes would probably still go through normal channels instead of our custom password changing application.

So, two questions:

- Is there any way to hook into the general validation process for new/changed passwords using, for example, OSGI or anything like that?

- Is there any way to replace or redirect the Launchpad/CMC "you have to change your password" page by a custom page (which could then include custom validation)?

I would be very happy about any answers, comments or suggestions.

I am trying to upgrade my new organizations BO environment from XI R2 to R4.1 in Unix platform. While running the Upgrade Management Tool, it completed retrieving the objects from CMS and throws error "Could not open file" with a path. Previous UMT ran upgrading most of the objects but missing all Universes and few reports which was unsuccessful. I am trying to find the inconsistancies between CMS and FRS in XI R2 source system. Seems like Repository Diagonestic Tool does not exists in XI R2 version. Is there any equivalent tool exists in R2. Note this BO  is on Unix server not GUI.  Please some suggest/hint me how to proceed ugrading BO from XI R2 to R4.1 with these inconsistencies in R2 source system.

I recently migrated some crystal reports from CR XI to BO 4.1 and some of the reports have Cascading Dynamic Parameters

I was able to successfully run these reports when I log into BI Launchpad as an Administrator and the dynamic parameters where displayed for me to pick a value

However when I tried to run these reports when logged in  as an AD user the dynamic parameters are not getting populated with values

I’m getting the below issue when I try to deploy a crystal report with Dynamic parameters in BI Launch Pad, when I deploy the same report with static parameters I can deploy and run it. I have Restarted the BI server, still the issue exitno use. kindly help me on this issue.

Sorry If this question is already available in the blog. I did some research to find the solution for the issue I am having, but could not able to.

We have publications(~54) scheduled to run every week with  2 mins time difference between them. Some reason these schedules are not running/even not responding  quite often. When I restart the server most of them getting failed with the error "restarted the server while jobs running, even though jobs are not in running status.

Any thoughts would be helpful.
