BusinessObjects 4.1 Windows XP Compatibility Issue

Hi everyone,

We are planning a Business Objects upgrade from XI 3.1 SP4 to version 4.1 SP2. One of the things we've noticed on the 4.1 (SP02) PAM was that it doesn't support Windows XP for client applications (Web + Desktop). For desktop client tools we have a small development team which can either be upgraded to Windows 7/8 or use the BO server to do their development work. What worries me the most is that we have around ~500 InfoView end-users using Windows XP with IE8.  My questions are:

1. Although BO 4.1 supports IE 8 why is it specifically supported with Windows 7 and not Windows XP (on the PAM), would our users on Windows XP and IE 8 face any major known issues after we've upgraded to BO 4.1 SP2?
2. Do any previous versions of 4.1 (Baseline or SP01) support Windows XP, if yes can somebody provide me with the PAM (link) for these versions?

Also please share your thoughts and ideas with me.
