Dear All,
I have been having issues with Job Server lately with jobs getting delayed by hours after the start time. Jobs that are delayed the most are LOVs refreshed through BusinessView. Moreover, at times, scheduled report objects also take some time to go to running.
Info:
For a long time I have been noticing that some JobServerChild.exe remains on the server during times when no jobs should be running. As per my understanding Job Server creates each child to process each job. Also, I have read that almost always these jobs do remain even after job. I have recently added "-type OUTPROC" to the parameters and have been observing them. I suspect that my current issue is due to these Job Server Childs that don't die down after the job.
Server : BI 4.0 SP6
Questions:
1. Is there any way to recognize which Child server is handling which job? At least through SDK or Process ID?
2. Is OUTPROC effective in killing child servers after the job? Are there any other methods?
3. How to flush out all jobs from a server?
Thanks & Regards,
Antony
