I have created a management plan to full backup and incremental backup using Sybase Central. It is all working fine.
My question is that when the backup is finished, the backup report does not appear in the report panel until I run the next backup.
Is it normal?
My second question is that if BI 4.1 is down, then is it ok if I delete BI4_CMS.log file. I am trying to compare it with Oracle. We can delete the redo log file if database is done. It is just that it may not be recovered and that will also resolved once the offline backup is done. I am not interested to do it but I want to understand the worst case scneraios.
My understanding so far is that once the full backup is done, log file can be truncated using incremental backup. The ratio of size between .db and .log is very huge.
Please clarify.
