how to add entry to Profile and export

Gurus:

I am trying to apply note 1821625.  I have some question about this note.

1) it says: "Add BOE_USE_32BIT_ENV_FOR=ODBCINI to Profile and export"

How to add it to Profile and export?  I think it does not mean user profile because we have many users.

2) it says: "export ODBCINI=/home/bobje/apps/bi40/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/odbc.ini"

I am not sure if on windows, we can do "export ODBCINI='C:\...'?
