Webi on BEx query using BICS on virtual info cube slow as compared to running BEx in SAP-BW tcode rsrt or in BEx analyzer

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the running of Webi on BEx query via BICS running poorly as compared to running BEx query in transaction code RSRT/RSECADMIN in SAP-GUI or running BEx query in BEx analyzer.

Scenario:

I have a Financial Closing Cockpit webi report/dashboard which is  build on a BEx query. This BEx query is build on a multi-provider which mainly has one standard cube and one virtual remote info-cube but for this particular BEx query I am restricting it at info-provider level to 'Virtual remote cube' so that Webi will get directly from the source system on the flow in a real-time fashion via virtual remote infocube. As of now, I can't base my webi report on BEx query which is on standard SAP-BW infocube because the end-users want the report/dashboard in a real time fashion.

Issue:

When I run the webi report - it takes around 95-120 secs in BO QA system and makes around 4-5 calls of around 22 secs (checked this via tcode SM50 in SAP ECC QA) to SAP-ECC QA system whereas if I run the run the same BEx query in transaction code RSRT/RSECADMIN via SAP-BW GUI or via BEx analyzer it takes around 22-30 secs in BW QA system and only makes one single call to the SAP-ECC QA system.

Question/Concerns:

So my question is why does webi on BEx makes 4-5 calls of 22/25 secs to SAP-ECC QA system while BEx in RSRT or BEx Analyzer only makes 1 call of 22-25 secs?

Ideally direct running BEx query in SAP GUI/Analyzer and webi on BEx should have similar run times/performance - why is it not the same ?

What can be done and where (BW or Business Object) does it needs to be done to improve the webi on BEx performance ?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & regards,

Chaitanya (Sunny)
