Please could someone advise me on the correct workflow for moving a Universe (.unx) from a development to a QA / production environment.
We’re using BO 4.0 SP5 Patch 2 and trying to use a Universe to audit BO usage. I’ve used one of the sample audit universes for Oracle to achieve this in development.
How should I now move this to QA / Production to audit the relevant QA and Production BO databases?
I've tried couple of things:
- Use Promotion Management to move the Connection, Universe and WEBI reports from Dev to QA. However then I’m not sure at which point I need to change the connection to point at the QA audit database. If I try to edit the connection in QA from IDT and change the settings I get an error “[Data Federator Driver] Unexpected exception: com.crystaldecisions.thirdparty.org.omg.CORBA.UNKNOWN: null”
- Create a new connection in IDT on the QA server point to the QA audit database and then use this as a source this the existing Data Foundation and Business Layer and then publish the Universe. However then it seems the WEBI reports would need to be redeveloped in QA as the Universe would have a different CUID?
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.
