Crystal Reports Enterprise - Direct DB conn throwing error when exporting to BI4.1

Hi,

I have created a report in Crystal Enterprise. for the connection, I created using "Connection by Vendor" option using the below driver:

Oracle --> Oracle 11 --> Oracle OCI

I'm able to get data in the report but when I try to export it to the BI Server, I get the below error:

"This report contains a data source connection that cannot be saved to SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) Platform."

so my question is how can I save the connection which I created to the repository. Do I have to depend only on the Relational connections created using Universe designer? If yes, then what is the purpose of this option in the Crystal Enterprise?

we are on BI4.1 SP1
