Conditions in Recurring Schedule - generate email if data returns or don't email if no data

I have a recurring schedule that emails a group with an attached .xls file of the results.   Is there a way to have the recurrance generate the email *only* if there is data in the results?   Since there is rarely data with this particular query, the user is requesting to only be emailed when a specific condition is met (i.e. when there is data)
