Scenario - I:
I installed SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP6 client. The Designer version key in the below registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BusinessObjects\Suite12.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObj Configuration \ Business Designer" is showing 12.6.0.1596.
Now, I upgraded 3.1 SP6 client to 3.1 SP7 client by installing SP7 on top of 3.1 SP6 and immediately I applied FP 7.1 on top of 3.1 SP7 Client. The upgradation was completed successfully without any errors. But the Designer version key in the registry " HKEY_ LOCAL_ MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BusinessObjects\Suite12.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObjConfiguration\ BusinessDesigner " is still showing 12.6.0.*. The registry is not getting updated to the latest version 12.7.*.
My code will not work properly if it is not updating the registry key. Is there any reason for not updating the registry key ?
Scenario - II :
I performed fresh full installation SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 client. Installed Successfully without any errors. The Designer version key in the below registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Wow6432Node\BusinessObjects\Suite12.0 \default\ BusinessObjects\BusObj Configuration\BusinessDesigner " is showing 12.7.0.1983.
I tried to apply the latest FixPack 7.1 on top of 3.1 SP7 , I got error like "FP 7.1 update not allowed to install because a patch with a higher version was detected". So, Is it required to apply fix pack after fresh full installation of 3.1 SP7 Client?
Please, help me to over come these.
