Hello,
I am in the process of evaluating Crystal Reports Server 2013 to replace our current installation of Business Objects Infoview XI.
I'm approaching this as a new installation as I don't believe there is a way to evaluate an upgrade from my current system.
In my current install, one I inherited, I have 1 server where I publish reports on and make available through a web interface on that same server.
Needless to say I am thoroughly confused, in large part to the various directions I have been led by the sales representatives I've chatted with. I have been told first that I would need Crystal Reports Server 2013 and Business Objects BI, Edge Edition to replicate my current environment ( SAP Crystal Server 2013 Evaluation Center). There are a lot of downloads available there. When I ran into hard drive space issues (the test server I'm using has 60GB on it) I questioned what I was installing and why... the next representative then explained to me that Crystal Server 2013 would be all I need in addition to Crystal Reports 2013. Great... except I don't seem to have a way to view/run the reports I want to test.
The third sales rep then confirmed that these would be the only 2 pieces of software I would need and provided me with a link. After further examination of the link, it clearly shows a multiple server configuration with different software (BusinessObjects and SAP - Publishing of Crystal Reports Part 1 of 3). See link. I cannot seem to get anywhere with the sales support or a technician to assist, much less in a timely manner.
Is someone knowledgable enough to point me in the right direction? If I could continue with 1 server wherein I can publish reports and provide a web GUI for users to log into via Windows AD or LDAP so they may run and schedule these published reports that would be ideal.
Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance.
