We have a BI4 installation with Windows AD SSO setup. We would like to give access to some webi/design studio reports from another website using Guest user account to users who don't exist in the BO system.
When these users with no BO account try to launch the URL (the URL is based on opendocument function), it generates a SSO error.
Do we have parameters in the opendocument syntax to specify not using sso? Can we send a default user ("guest")?

Hello Everyone,
I need to take the CMS Database backup but not able to get how can I do this. After searching allot I found that I have to take the database dump using its client component and also to take the backup of Filestore folder.
But the thing with me is that I have not installed the BO and I don't know which database has been used for CMS, is there a way I can confirm this?
I am able to access the CMC, in Settings I am able to get the Database Name and Username that is "5.0.34-enterprise-nt" & "sa", but which database is used is not mentioned anywhere.
After knowing the database one more thing is that how will I take the dump of it, because there's no database client installed in my machine, do I need to install the database client in my machine to take the dump?
Any help would be appreciated.

To meet our client need, I have to display the list of pdf documents, stored in the CMC, in a dashboard, and enable end user to open these documents (That can be done by OpenDocument).
Let me give you an example:
In the CMC I have a folder named Projects, where there are many subfolders: Project1, project2, project3 ... in each one, there are one or more pdf document.
So our need is to display in a dashboard the list of documents by subfolder.
Can anyone, tell me what is the table where BO stores information about documents stored in the CMC. I already serach ine CMC tables that are stored in SQLServer, but I think that BO encrypts thses informations.

Dear all,
I am working on SAP BO4.0 SP6,on Linux OS with Oracle data base back ground.
We have done upgrade from BO3.1 to BO4.0.After migration all reports are working finely except few reports.If I am trying to modify the report it is throwing an error like "Webi server down or unreachable" .If I Try to refresh the report it is throwing an error like "Error interno al llamar a la API 'processDPCommandsEx'. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (WIS 30270)".
We have checked all services everything is enabled and working finely.But still we could not find the proper solution on this.
Here we observed on this for every half an hour "Webi processing server is getting failed".Although we are restarting the servers every time.
Can some one please assist me on this.

We have recently upgraded our Business Objects Software from 3.1 SP4 to 3.1 SP6 on a few of our systems. The upgrade portrayed strange behaviour such as:
Can any one explain this strange behaviour? We can confirm that all the systems are of the same OS, architecture and resource and even the same Business Objects application version (which was BO XI 3.1 SP3).

For Example :

I choose one option in combobox in my Dashboard, it will send the option that i choose in Dashboard
Webi:
Webi Report will open in new tab and data will appear base on what i choose in Dashboard.
Both of them are in different page, not in the same BI Workspace.

I have one requirement for setting up of Promotion management & Version Management for BI 4.0 environments.
We have 3 environments (DEV, TEST, PROD ) and installed separate environment for only Promotion Management & Version Management purpose (LCM Server)
Here my requirement is:
1. Use LCM Server for all code promotion between the environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)- I was able to migrate, want to change the LCM work folder to the network shared location.
2. Version Management: When I am trying to add the objects, it’s coming from the local system only and the Server Icon is grayed out to change the system name.(like I was not able to add the DEV objects to the version management in LCM Server)

Is there a way to edit a .unv universe in Information Design Tool? Or is it only possible to do this if you convert it.
I have an issue where we are upgrading to BI 4.0 and using Crystal 2011 (as CR Entrerpise does not have the functionality we need) and Crystall 2011 can only connect to universes with unv format. So I would like to keep some of the unv universes for connectivity and amend them if required.
If not is it possible to connect universes design (XI 3.1) to BI 4.0 to amend / create universes?

We recently migrated a webi report from BOXI R3 environment to BI 4.0 sp6 environment,. The report when refreshed comes up with #computation errors on calculation fields.The strange thing is the report runs when the record size is restricted to 200000 but as soon as the record size goes anything above 2250000 it fails with the above error. Is this a known bug. The report runs fine on XI 3.1 environment and on BI 4.0 Sp6 web i rich client.

After upgrading to XI3.1 SP6 I see a checkbox in CMC that was not there before. This is for a Crystal Report, using the Database Configuration option, and the new checkbox is labeled "Allow users to edit database logon configuration". What field in the SDK does this option correspond to?

Our business users are not able to view the crystal 10 reports in WIN7/IE9 system. When they click on view, it shows 'The Crystal Report Viewer
is unable to create it's resources' without any activeX popup that was available in IE8 browser.
Our reports are launched in Crystal enterprise 10.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the Crystal reports launched using Crystal enterprise server 10 version.
2. Through IE9 browser in WIN7 PC if you try to view the report, it throws ''The Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create it's resources' without any activeX popup
Current Status with SAP support: As per SAP support, Crystal Ent 10 has comprehensively passed its published End Of Life date.

Dear all,
We have two BO servers, one for DEV and the other for PRD. We develop reports in DEV and we want to transport certain instance of reports to PRD.
We tried Upgrade Manager tools, Federation in CMC, Promotion Management tool in CMC, but they all failed to pick specific instance.
Are there any suggestion to achieve this in BO 4.0 ?

having an issue trying to do a Business Objects migration from XI Release 2, to XI 4.0, using the Upgrade management Tool - Incremental Upgrade.
the upgrade/migration seems to work just fine then stops with Upgrade error alert.

Upgrade process has been interrupted by an error: A runtime exception has occurred in the Object manager. java.lang.String cannot be cast to com.crystaldecisions.sdk.properties.IProperties
"
in another knowledge base, that error was supposed to be fixed with Patch 3.
Our Upgrade Migration tool was updated to Patch 4,.
Patch 4 includes the updates in Patch 3, so any feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated, as this is causing major issues for our users/staff.

I am very frustrated and have been trying to solve this for weeks without success.
I installed Crystal Server 2011 SP6 on a fresh VM running Windows Server 2008R2. Used all defaults.
I created an ODBC to my SQL server database that contains the data I want to report on. ODBC tests fine. I create a simple report in Crystal Developer, pulling data from the ODBC connection. Works fine. I save it to Enterprise.
When I run/schedule the report in Crystal Server, however, I get Error in File ~tmp2dbc78acf4b2570.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 18456 ]
Remember, the report runs fine in Developer (Developer is installed on the same machine as Crystal Server). I don't understand.

If we wish to exclude bo4 from our anti-virus software to aid performnace during opertaional hours aasume can just exclude the enire install_dir area for this.
Qhatfirewall port srequire to be opne.
Is it just 6400-6410 (cms ones ) and the tomcat port.
Also how much better is bo4 performance with a/v disabled compared to a/v running as rough percentage.
we have already split aps and are trying to improve overall performance.

Hi Team,
We are planning to change the CMS database (BI 4.0) from the existing(default) to other database(SQL Server 2008 r2).
I followed the same steps what admin guide points for selecting a new or existing CMS database on Windows.
1. stopped the SIA.
2. Selected the SIA, and clicked Specify CMS Data Source on the toolbar.
3. Selected copy data from another data source.
(created DSN for the new database)
4. configured the connection with database credentials.
5. added the cluster key too.
6. And while configuring the new connections with new database credentails. Used the same default DSN but its throwing an error as
"Database access error, Reason [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Invalid cursor state".
Please help me out in this..

I have a Windows 2008 x64 Server with the following SAP products installed:
SAP BOE Platform Server & Client Tools x64 4.0 sp6 patch 1
SAP BODS Server & Client x64 4.0 sp3 patch 4
SAP InfoSteward x64 sp3 patch 1
All installations were successful, DataServices and InfoSteward are visible in the CMC Home menu.
The only thing that is not working is that the 3 services:

cannot be started.
